I have a goofy sense of humor that kids like. I see things differently than many people. I'm both a detail-oriented here & now person and future oriented, big picture thinker. I'm independent and pretty self-sufficient.

I've had a few people tell me I'm the smartest woman they know. Evidently, they don't get out much. Most people say that I'm nice. I'm usually patient, but have to fight road rage.

I'm kind of quiet, a little shy and an introvert. I'd rather curl up with a book than go to parties. Definitely a hermit. I prefer being around small groups of people. I gravitate toward older ones and the kids. They need someone to listen.

In conversation, I ask a lot of questions. I'd rather learn about people and ideas than talk too much about myself. I don't think people in general have enough authentic conversation. We put on masks. My challenge is to unmask and invite people to share what's really on their minds.

Well I found this and it pretty much describes me to a T!

    Astrological Characteristics Scorpio:

    The SCORPIO Oct. 24 - Nov. 21
Determined, Forceful, Emotional, Intuitive, Powerful, Passionate, Exciting and Magnetic
Jealous, Resentful, Compulsive, Obsessive, Secretive and Obstinate
Intuitive and ever curious, Scorpios are the great investigators of the Zodiac. They want to know everything about everyone. When an answer is needed, a Scorpio will find it for you. Unfortunately Scorpios seem to see only in black and white. They always have their own agenda and never fail to promote it.

Scorpios are the masters of their fate. They know only one way to live: on their own terms. They do not live life but attack it. When life hands them a loss, they do not waste time sulking, but rather continue on their path, sure they will eventually succeed. Scorpios are driven by their intense passions and desires. Often they are seen as imperious.

Scorpios are a secretive lot. Those around them may never know the depth of their passions. Probing the Scorpio psyche will only make them leery and cause them to flee. Whether in business or play, Scorpios love to compete. Indeed to do well, they must have an opponent. Scorpios do not take slights well. If you cross them be assured they will retaliate with their full force. Scorpios never quit and never surrender. If anyone can get a difficult task done it is a Scorpio.
    The Scorpio In Love:
Scorpios have a dark and mysterious style which, combined with an irresistible personal magnetism, creates a fascination in members of the opposite sex. They ooze sexual excitement and require a partner who can keep up with their marvelous capacity for taking everything to the limit and far beyond. For Scorpios, emotions run deep, and their faculty of intuition is remarkably accurate, so their antennae can pick out a prospective partner at first sight. They need, however, to keep a part of themselves private and personal. They can react vigorously should a lover trespass in their personal domain.

Scorpios can be unduly domineering in personal relationships, especially should they perceive their partner to be weaker than themselves. Their biggest problem is finding someone who, while strong enough to maintain a tempestuous lifestyle, is interesting enough to remain a challenge. Once they find the right person they will mate for life.

Ahh, it would appear that people like full physical and mental descriptions on top of the answer to the question posed by jwfacts, so I guess I'll post my own personal description, too:

I'm 20 years old, 5'9" tall, 125lbs, not especially curvy, with long dark brown hair with a natural auburn tint. I have hazel eyes and I wear glasses. I have long thin fingers that are exceptionally good for typing (though I think they look kinda creepy). I'm always wearing jeans and a t-shirt, regardless of the season, and so I tend to be cold most of the time. Heh, and since jwfacts decided to share the fact that he hasn't put on any weight since he was 15, I guess I'll share that I've actually lost close on 15lbs since I was 15, and I'm not much good at putting weight on, either. Call it natural talent, but I can eat anything I want and as much of it as I want, and I rarely, if ever, put on weight, even though I'm pretty much a champion couch-potato, and I've always been like that. And I'm clumsy - it comes from being tall, I'm a little on the tall side for a girl, at least around here, and besides the obvious difficulty with finding clothes to fit, being really uncoordinated and clumsy tends to accompany long, gangly arms and legs and big feet. Some people think my clumsiness is cute and funny, I think it's just annoying - you try getting your fingers caught in damn near anything because they're so long and tripping over everything because your coordination is a little off and your feet are too big!!

Hmm, mentally, I like to think I'm reasonably intelligent and level-headed. I like to know the facts before I make any decisions, hence my registration with this forum, and I'm really good at researching damn near anything. I'm a third-year history student in university with a good solid B average (GPA 3.3), so researching skills come with the territory. I can see things from a rational, reasonable and objective viewpoint, even when I don't particularly like that POV. My friends always come to me for advice on their situations because they know I can be objective about it and I'm a very honest, straightforward person.

I'm also a total nerd - I love books and movies and video games, expecially the violent ones, so I have lots of guy-friends because, let's face it, there aren't many gamer chicks out there, and I'm something of a tomboy, anyway. What do I do for fun on a Saturday night, then?? I curl up in my PJs with a good book or a movie and some popcorn, or if I'm in the mood, I'll pop in a good video game and enjoy some pointless violence for a while. Sounds a little pathetic, I know, but I love it!!

And I'm generally really really shy, always have been, and I'm not much good at just starting up a conversation with a new person. Of course, my silence changes very quickly once I'm comfortable with a new friend, then I'll talk endlessly about damn near anything. I embarrass really easily, though, so even though I'm 20 years old, sex jokes still make me blush, even though I tell a few myself, a fact that all of my friends like to take advantage of. I also blush at compliments, if only because I rarely get them and my brain can't quite process them properly. Maybe those things make me a little immature and childish, but some people find it endearing, or at least I think they do. My boyfriend actually thinks it's cute that mentally, I'm still 12 years old. Hey, you're only young once, but you can be immature forever!! And I think everyone can retain their child-like wonder - it is possible to be child-like without being childish.

But of course, that kinda works for me, the 12-year-old mentality thing, because physically, I really don't look a hell of a lot different from when I was 12 - I even wear the same clothing size!! My best friend always teases me that I still look exactly the same as I did when she first met me, way back in the seventh grade when we were both 12 years old. I tell her to laugh all she wants - it won't be so funny when we're both 40 and I still look like I'm 12.

So, in a nutshell, that's pretty much me. Maybe I'll post a picture for my avatar sometime.

I took a Myers-Briggs type Indicator test a few years ago and found out that I am an INTP which means "Introverted Thinking with Extraverted Intuitution.

    Profile is as follows:

INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them.

Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off. While annoying to the less concise, this fine discrimination ability gives INTPs so inclined a natural advantage as, for example, grammarians and linguists.

INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to most anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves.

A major concern for INTPs is the haunting sense of impending failure. They spend considerable time second-guessing themselves. The open-endedness (from Perceiving) conjoined with the need for competence (NT) is expressed in a sense that one's conclusion may well be met by an equally plausible alternative solution, and that, after all, one may very well have overlooked some critical bit of data. An INTP arguing a point may very well be trying to convince himself as much as his opposition. In this way INTPs are markedly different from INTJs, who are much more confident in their competence and willing to act on their convictions.

Mathematics is a system where many INTPs love to play, similarly languages, computer systems--potentially any complex system. INTPs thrive on systems. Understanding, exploring, mastering, and manipulating systems can overtake the INTP's conscious thought. This fascination for logical wholes and their inner workings is often expressed in a detachment from the environment, a concentration where time is forgotten and extraneous stimuli are held at bay. Accomplishing a task or goal with this knowledge is secondary.

INTPs and Logic -- One of the tipoffs that a person is an INTP is her obsession with logical correctness. Errors are not often due to poor logic -- apparent faux pas in reasoning are usually a result of overlooking details or of incorrect context.

Games NTs seem to especially enjoy include Risk, Bridge, Stratego, Chess, Go, and word games of all sorts. (I have an ENTP friend that loves Boggle and its variations. We've been known to sit in public places and pick a word off a menu or mayonnaise jar to see who can make the most words from its letters on a napkin in two minutes.) The INTP mailing list has enjoyed a round of Metaphore, virtual volleyball, and a few 'finish the series' brain teasers.

INTPs in the main are not clannish. The INTP mailing list, with a readership now in triple figures, was in its incipience fraught with all the difficulties of the Panama canal: we had trouble deciding on:

    1) whether or not there should be such a group,
    2) exactly what such a group should be called, and
    3) which of us would have to take the responsibility for organization and maintenance of the aforesaid group/club/whatever.

A Functional Analysis -- by Joe Butt

    Introverted Thinking

Introverted Thinking strives to extract the essence of the Idea from various externals that express it. In the extreme, this conceptual essence wants no form or substance to verify its reality. Knowing the Truth is enough for INTPs; the knowledge that this truth can (or could) be demonstrated is sufficient to satisfy the knower. "Cogito, ergo sum" expresses this prime directive quite succinctly.

In seasons of low energy level, or moments of single-minded concentration, the INTP is aloof and detached in a way that might even offend more relational or extraverted individuals.

    Extraverted iNtuition

Intuition softens and socializes Thinking, fleshing out the brittle bones of truths formed in the dominant inner world. That which is is not negotiable; yet actual application diffuses knowledge to the extent that knowledge needs qualification and context to be of any consequence in this foreign world of substance.

If Thinking can desist, the INTP is free to brainstorm, calling up the perceptions of the unconscious (i.e., intuition) which are mirrored in patterns in the realm of matter, time and space. These perceptions, in the form of theories or hunches, must ultimately defer to the inner principles, or at least they must not negate them.

Intuition unchained gives birth to play. INTPs enjoy games, formal or impromptu, which coax analogies, patterns and theories from the unseen into spontaneous expression in a way that defies their own comprehension.

    Introverted Sensing

Sensing is of a subjective, inner nature similar to that of the SJs. It supplies awareness of the forms of senses rather than the raw, analogic stimuli. Facts and figures seek to be cleaned up for comparison with an ever growing range of previously experienced input. Sensing assists intuition in sorting out and arranging information into the building blocks for Thinking's elaborate systems.

The internalizing nature of the INTP's Sensing function leaves a relative absence of environmental awareness (i.e., Extraverted Sensing), except when the environment is the current focus. Consciousness of such conditions is at best a sometime thing.

    Extraverted Feeling

Feeling tends to be all or none. When present, the INTP's concern for others is intense, albeit naive. In a crisis, this feeling judgement is often silenced by the emergence of Thinking, who rushes in to avert chaos and destruction. In the absence of a clear principle, however, INTPs have been known to defer judgement and to allow decisions about interpersonal matters to be left hanging lest someone be offended or somehow injured. INTPs are at risk of being swept away by the shadow in the form of their own strong emotional impulses.

Here's another one. I find this fascinating:

    The Thinker

As an INTP, your primary mode of living is focused internally, where you deal with things rationally and logically. Your secondary mode is external, where you take things in primarily via your intuition.

INTPs live in the world of theoretical possibilities. They see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. They live primarily inside their own minds, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. They seek clarity in everything, and are therefore driven to build knowledge. They are the "absent-minded professors", who highly value intelligence and the ability to apply logic to theories to find solutions. They typically are so strongly driven to turn problems into logical explanations, that they live much of their lives within their own heads, and may not place as much importance or value on the external world. Their natural drive to turn theories into concrete understanding may turn into a feeling of personal responsibility to solve theoretical problems, and help society move towards a higher understanding.

INTPs value knowledge above all else. Their minds are constantly working to generate new theories, or to prove or disprove existing theories. They approach problems and theories with enthusiasm and skepticism, ignoring existing rules and opinions and defining their own approach to the resolution. They seek patterns and logical explanations for anything that interests them. They're usually extremely bright, and able to be objectively critical in their analysis. They love new ideas, and become very excited over abstractions and theories. They love to discuss these concepts with others. They may seem "dreamy" and distant to others, because they spend a lot of time inside their minds musing over theories. They hate to work on routine things - they would much prefer to build complex theoretical solutions, and leave the implementation of the system to others. They are intensely interested in theory, and will put forth tremendous amounts of time and energy into finding a solution to a problem with has piqued their interest.

INTPs do not like to lead or control people. They're very tolerant and flexible in most situations, unless one of their firmly held beliefs has been violated or challenged, in which case they may take a very rigid stance. The INTP is likely to be very shy when it comes to meeting new people. On the other hand, the INTP is very self-confident and gregarious around people they know well, or when discussing theories which they fully understand.

The INTP has no understanding or value for decisions made on the basis of personal subjectivity or feelings. They strive constantly to achieve logical conclusions to problems, and don't understand the importance or relevance of applying subjective emotional considerations to decisions. For this reason, INTPs are usually not in-tune with how people are feeling, and are not naturally well-equiped to meet the emotional needs of others.

The INTP may have a problem with self-aggrandizement and social rebellion, which will interfere with their creative potential. Since their Feeling side is their least developed trait, the INTP may have difficulty giving the warmth and support that is sometimes necessary in intimate relationships. If the INTP doesn't realize the value of attending to other people's feelings, he or she may become overly critical and sarcastic with others. If the INTP is not able to find a place for themself which supports the use of their strongest abilities, they may become generally negative and cynical. If the INTP has not developed their Sensing side sufficiently, they may become unaware of their environment, and exhibit weakness in performing maintenance-type tasks, such as bill-paying and dressing appropriately.

For the INTP, it is extremely important that ideas and facts are expressed correctly and succinctly. They are likely to express themselves in what they believe to be absolute truths. Sometimes, their well thought-out understanding of an idea is not easily understandable by others, but the INTP is not naturally likely to tailor the truth so as to explain it in an understandable way to others. The INTP may be prone to abandoning a project once they have figured it out, moving on to the next thing. It's important that the INTP place importance on expressing their developed theories in understandable ways. In the end, an amazing discovery means nothing if you are the only person who understands it.

The INTP is usually very independent, unconventional, and original. They are not likely to place much value on traditional goals such as popularity and security. They usually have complex characters, and may tend to be restless and temperamental. They are strongly ingenious, and have unconventional thought patterns which allows them to analyze ideas in new ways. Consequently, a lot of scientific breakthroughs in the world have been made by the INTP.

The INTP is at his best when he can work on his theories independently. When given an environment which supports his creative genius and possible eccentricity, the INTP can accomplish truly remarkable things. These are the pioneers of new thoughts in our society.

    Jungian functional preference ordering:

    Dominant: Introverted Thinking
    Auxiliary: Extraverted Intuition
    Tertiary: Introverted Sensing
    Inferior: Extraverted Feeling

ESTPs are spontaneous, active folks. Like the other SPs, ESTPs get great satisfaction from acting on their impulses. Activities involving great power, speed, thrill and risk are attractive to the ESTP. Chronic stifling of these impulses makes the ESTP feel "dead inside."

Gamesmanship is the calling card of the ESTP. Persons of this type have a natural drive to best the competition. Some of the most successful salespersons are ESTPs. P.T. Barnum ("Never give a sucker an even break") illustrates the unscrupulous contingent of this type.

Almost unconsciously the ESTP looks for nonverbal, nearly subliminal cues as to what makes her quarry "tick." Once she knows, she waits for just the right time to trump the unsuspecting victim's ace and glory in her conquest. Oddly enough, the ESTP seems to admire and respect anyone who can beat her at her own game.

"If I was any better, I couldn't stand it!" To an ESTP, admission of weakness feels like failure. He admires strength in himself and in others.

"Shock effect" is a favored technique of this type to get the attention of his audience. ESTPs love to be at center stage, demonstrating feats of wonder and daring.

  • RichieRich

wow stilla, I'm an ESTP too.

But now to the good bits.

I'm 17 years old, and a senior in high school. I'm 6'4", tip the scale at about 300 pounds. I have red hair which is cut very close to my head, hazel eyes, and freckles.

When I'm not out in service (ha) I'm at school, or at work at Target. On the occasional offday from Target and/or school, I love to Hunt, Fish, or just be outdoors.

I do a lot of Graphic Design work, and I'm going to college to study it.

I really enjoy lifting weights. I take a weight training class in school, and go to the gym occasionally after work.

My gym is a martial arts gym, and I practice Yawara. Its almost a dead art now, but it's about minimal, way placed blows doing more than speedy kicks and punches. At my gym, we "spar", and I'm pretty good. I like taking an ExMarine and showing him what a fat high school kid can do.

I love my friends, and tend to be the life of the party. Even at work I dance around and make jokes to everyone.

Yeah, so that's me. Just a kid. In a nutshell.

I like to do things for others....I like to make people happy, and feel good about themselves. I'm a straight-shooter, though, and am like an angry mama bear, if you cross me, or mine. I love to cook, and keep a well-organized, (hahaha) and clean home. I have incense and candles burning, and some nice music playing, to make my home feel more cosy. I guess you could say, that I'm a home-body, love to puttering in the house, or yard. I like to socialize, and have a good time, play some cards, tell some jokes, .....I'm a very good listener, and am always there if someone needs a shoulder to cry on. When my family or friends are hurting, I hurt with them, when they are happy, I'm happy with them.....We're here for such a short time, that I want to make sure those who are around me, are enjoying themselves to the fullest.
