. They are a drain on all the city's resources that are paid for through taxes.

    Please be more specific!

In MY personal experience - YES

    Schools
    Streets
    Police protection
    Fire fighters
    Public facilities
Government supported hospitals and medical facilities... such as County Hospitals
    Paramedics

Every taxpayer is supporting such things with tax dollars. The WTS makes use of ALL of these things without providing a penny of support.

Yes, I know the WTS donates "medical supplies" to hospitals... but the equipment is ALWAYS directly related to bloodless medical procedures that directly benefit JWs and not the general public.

Yes, I know the WTS has donated fire trucks before... but it was only so they could convince city councils to change zoning regulations so they could build more printing presses. (i.e.: Patterson Facility)

garbage collection, police, fire, emergency serives, road repairs and maintenance - like Elsewhere said all services paid for through municipal taxes.

Since the WTS pays no taxes the other home and business owners have to pick up the tab.

I know there was a thread that discussed the Brooklyn community's protest over the WTS request to build an apartment complex - can't find it right now and I am on my way out

funny....we have the same problem in Ca with Indian Gaming as the Brooklyn neighborhood. I remember when that protest happened against that JW complex going in. We have a Casino nearby that has caused all kinds of problems that they don't help with. The obvious is all the accidents from zero planning on the streets to handle the thousands of motorists. We have many wrecks in the intersection cause the Casino refuses to help pay and this community is very poor. We get people coming to church asking for gas money to get home cause they spent their last dime there.

The difference is Watchtower is supposedly a religion with charitable contributors but we know they are not. Parasite/virus...what good do they do socially? Nada. They also create mild to severe mental illness in their members that usually ends up a strain of the welfare/disability system.~Kate

If I had someone like that come to me asking for money, I would first LMAO at them, then I'd call them a fcking MORON and then slam the door.

Are you sayin that the WTS is the ONLY Org. that doesnt pay taxes? If not couldnt you say the same for the rest who dont? JW pays taxes.

    dfed,

You miss the point entirely. By trying to change the subject to 'other' religions you are simply replying per the org. You see, 'other' religions actually DO feed the poor, visit the widows and elderly, put water in villages that have none, clothe the poor, house the homeless, etc....etc..... they help ALL people not just those of their own 'faith'. They walk the walk. The jw's do not help anybody but their own, and even then rarely. Parasites, fitting word for these very 'worldly' people who care nothing for their fellow man.

Carla you have no IDEA what the WTBTS does. You are not even a Witness. You are just running with this because your are bias to the JWS.

With all due respect - I don't think the average JW knows what the WTBTS does.....
