    This reminds me of someone I once knew, best described as an "urban nomad". He said that once every 6 months he gave everything the "float test": he tossed it in the harbor and kept it if it would float.

    This could work for you, if you have a body of water handy.

    I am in the process of this so we can be mobile. It's difficult. Mostly concerning "entertaining" stuff from the kitchen. I am trying to get down to a small pile of stuff to store at a friends and what we need for the road. Clothing is also a problem, cause I have a lot for all seasons and events...I think I will be developing a black wardrobe with a few bright pieces to be as flexible as I can. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Wardrobe gets a good going through every two months. If I haven't worn it in two years, it goes.

    Anything mismatched, goes!

    Good rule of thumb I follow - if you haven't used it in 6 months, you don't need it.
