Blondie, she has written no book--yet. I think Waiting has mistaken her for someone else.
The newspaper writer said she was part of a group. Likely she was referring to Silentlambs, which Barbara obviously supports.

Maybe she meant Barbara Grizutti Harrison.
Blondie,
You are absolutely right, I'm sure.

Nice opportunity for a bump anyway.
Memo to William:
How about giving each such story a new title or something; when I spoke to someone about this post, they had missed it, thinking there was just one and they had already read it.
What was buried in this story will send some people scrambling for their parachutes, golden or not.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if the newspaper report is correct, NBC Dateline has been given documentation --
: describing how the church's leadership is well aware of sexual child abuse within its organization and helps cover it up.
My wheels are turning -- Silentlambs has posted this story, has further described the individual's duties who appears in the story, which means that he agrees with the report and subscribes to its accuracy.
The "church's leadership" must refer to those higher than elders. It seems to me that would include circuit and district overseers, and those higher up the chain. I am sure there is no written policy to cover up child molestation of itself, but the practice has generally been to "protect the organization and Jehovah's good name at all costs."
That's coverup. The American public is most forgiving of persons who make mistakes and admit them, but COVERUP is just not overlooked or easily forgiven. Anyone who knows his/her history understands that.
"Church Leadership Helps Cover Up Child Abuse" is not a happy headline for Jehovah's Witnesses. This takes the issue out of the realm of disgruntled exJWs to a different level. That's not just bad publicity, it is damaging news of the worst sort.
I await further developments eagerly.
Barbara Anderson, part of a group fighting clergy-based sex crimes, is one of about 20 advocates from around the country who traveled to Adams County for the trial to lend support to Rodriguez. Anderson previously worked as a research assistant in the Jehovah's Witnesses New York headquarters. She said she gave the Dateline news show, which had a crew covering the Beliz trial, documentation describing how the church's
leadership is well aware of sexual child abuse within its organization and helps cover it up.
When I read that statement last night, I literally gasped at it's import. In fact, it sounded so good that I decided not to hold my breath, knowing how often reporting is in error.
If it's ok with you guys though, I think I'll go ahead and be excited now.
Barbara A.,
If you are reading this, I send you my warmest regards and best wishes. I admire you to no end for your courage in finally revealing what you know about those bastards in Brooklyn. There were times when I ever wondered if you would really do, but you have allayed those fears.
Although we haven't spoken in about a year, I still think of you and your hard work, often and kindly.
Let the good times roll! Folks, it's just about SHOW TIME!
best regards,
Farkel
Most assuredly I would like to give my thanks to Ms Anderson, and SilentLambs, this is great news for us not so great new for those captivated by the drivel coming out of Bethel. My deeply felt thanks for your efforts in this endeavor, lest we forget the battle won is not the war won, As more and more information comes available those trapped in the borg will growdisgusted and make the move. Thank you so much for your hard work. Buff
Breathe, SixofNine, breathe.
Barbara Anderson is going to be their worst nightmare. Why? Because she is sweet, kind, gentle--and honest to a fault. Anyone who knows her will tell you that, and prominent people in Bethel will attest to it--especially even the wives of governing body members.
This is not a militant lady on some crusade against the organization, not some "opposer of the preaching work," not some wild-eyed "apostate."
She's just a grandmother who will be true to her God-given conscience, and ANYBODY who knows her understands that. Her husband is a loyal elder who has been at Bethel, not once, but TWICE. Everyone who knows him knows what a kind, gentle and sweet soul he is, who is the epitome of what an elder should be--and is. He is Mr. Loyal, and always has been.
As the honest little girl in the big rocking chair on Saturday Night Live used to say,
"And that's the truth."

Farkel, I take it this is the "big thing" that you talked about on old H2O that had me all crazy for so long. You were right! It is BIG, BIG, BIG!
