Any gamers out there?

I'm "ballistic(uk)" in Unreal Tournament. I've kinda banned myself from it and partly this site at the mo due to every night and weekend spent studying for a course I'm doing for work. I have clocked up thousands of hours on Unreal Tournament and play at quite a serious level, if I can say that.

Afterall, I only started including my country in my name when I felt I was representing it well enough, i.e. able to beat anyone.

oh, and I cannot find a mouse that lasts a year.

Yup, I'm a total gamer chick and I have been since I got my NES way back in 1990, when I was 5 years old - BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT I EVER GOT!! At the moment, I have an old NES, a Nintendo 64, a Nintendo Gamecube, an XBox and a GameBoy Advance SP (the "Retro NES" edition), and I fully intend to get the Nintendo Revolution when it comes out next year, if I have the money for it, so yes, I'm a total gamer geek!! And sorry guys, I might be a die-hard gamer chick and I'm sure that's something you're all looking for in a girl, but I'm already taken by a fellow gamer geek.

Anyway, for recommendations, I'm a HUGE "Resident Evil" fan, I love that franchise, I'm a total survival-horror geek. I just got RE4 this Christmas and I LOVE IT!! If you like survival-horror games, you can't get much better than the RE games. Play alone, in a dark room, with the volume turned up loud for optimal results!!

Also for survival-horror, the "Silent Hill" games on the Playstation are totally awesome, too. I've played all four, and I have to say that SH2 and SH4 are my favourites. They're just creepy, I love 'em!! Different from the RE games, but they're still awesome. And they tend to have multiple endings, so play 'em over and over to see if you can get them all!! And play these games the same way you play RE games for optimal results!!

I'm also a huge "Devil May Cry" fan (PS2) and I love "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time", though the second Prince of Persia kinda sucked. Haven't played the third one yet, so I'll have to get back to you on that one.

I love the "Legend of Zelda" games for Nintendo, too - I just got into those recently, starting with "Ocarina of Time" and then moving on to "Windwaker" and I'm looking forward to the release of "Twilight Princess" in the spring. Excellent RPG games, and the main character, Link, is really cute, too!!

And I'll play pretty much any first-person shooter game. I was a huge fan of "GoldenEye 64" on the Nintendo 64, and I have "GoldenEye: Rogue Agent" on the Gamecube, too. I also have "The World is Not Enough" on the N64. (Yes, I'm also a huge James Bond fan, I love the movies and the video games!!) I love FPS games, those are totally the best.

And for fighting games, I love the "Soul Calibur" games on the PS2 and the GCN, those are great for parties, get a bunch of guys together and do a round-robin type of game, everyone gets really into those. Lots of yelling and cheering, it's awesome!!

Ooo, and I love the "Max Payne" games, they're available on the PC, XBox and PS2, if I'm correct, and if you like a good rogue cop game, then those are your games!! Lots of guns, lots of shooting, interesting storyline, awesome title character, these games have it all!!

Hmm, that's about all that I can come up with right now. Of course, on my GameBoy Advance SP, I play lots of Mario games, those are classic, and Zelda games, too. I like old school stuff just as much as the new stuff. And I still play my old NES, too!!

    Hope that helps!!

    Becka,

You go girl!! Isn't RE4 the baddest? I love assignment Ada (on PS2). How many stars have you gotten on the Mercenaries?

I finally found the first Fatal Frame last week. I know it's old but I didn't buy it when it first came out and it got really hard to find! It's creepy but must be played in the dark.

Oh, and I went back to play RE2 and got my butt kicked because of the controls. Didn't realize how far the technology had come until I tried to play the old games again. I can still play the old Tombraider games without that problem though. Strange. Lara is great!! She can hit her boobs on a brick wall and just keep on climbing. Whatta woman.

Ah My world!! I'm a PC gamer mostly, I do like gamecube (I really have a hard time finding a controler I like, I prefer the mouse and keyboard)

I like RPG's the Elder Scrolls series is great. I also like Command and Conquer Generals, it's real-time stratagy, similar to age of empires. and right now i'm doing The Matrix Online and Beta testing for a new game called Khan: Ultimate Power. Both MMORPG's

I also have NFS:Underground 1&2 and Sid Meyers Pirates (It's cheesy but great fun)

I play way too much, I think as a way of escape from the realities of my difficult life. I mainly play strategy, sims (simulation), and role playing games.

My favorites are (in no particular order)

    • The Sims (1 & 2)
    • Sim City (1, 2, 3, 4)
    • Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2 (not 3, it's so buggy I quit in frustration and never bought another expansion)
    • Freelancer
    • Freedom Force (1 & 2)
    • Neverwinter Nights (and expansion packs)
    • Knights of the Old Republic (1 & 2)
    • Baldur's Gate (and expansion packs)
    • Icewind Dale (and expansion packs)
    • Dungeon Siege (not a big favorite, but it was okay)
    • Evil Genius
    • Chessmaster

    I know I'm forgetting some.

I finally get to play Dungeons & Dragons without anyone telling me how demonic it is and how it will take over my mind. And in spite of Joe Lieberman, I've never gone postal and killed anyone after playing a game. When I play, however, I like to stay in character as much as possible. I have some handicaps to overcome in that I totally don't understand half of the rules, having been forbidden to play when I was a dub. For example, I don't understand how Armour Class is figured, so to figure out if I should keep a piece of armor or not, I compare the sale price with another piece at a mercantile. Sounds pathetic, I know, but it works. I love playing wizards and sorcerers the best.

I play alone. I've never ventured into multi-player mode or MMO's.

    • KotOR I & II
    • The Jedi Knight Series
    • Star Wars Battlefront I & II
    • Doom 3
    • Dungeon Seige II (just purchased. Not bad so far.)
    • Neverwinter Nights (all) (I was an avid player on the original that was an online game on AOL back in the early nineties.)
    • Baldur's Gate (all)
    • Morrowind (I'm an old Elder Scrolls fan.)
    • The entire Ultima series

I've never been a big fan of console games, though I kicked ass at Super Mario Brothers 3 (back in the day, I could beat it on one quarter) and later Super Mario World.

My son got my hooked on the Halo games. Halo 2 online...I hate to admit how much time I've spent yelling at 12 year old kids who mock my poor dead body lol. Now my son just bought a game called Battlefield 2 for Xbox. WOW! On Xbox live it's amazing. Kinda like Halo but more army like and definately requires more team work.
