If this is something that is important to you, stay true to yourself and don't let anyone stand in your way. Some of my biggest regrets come from letting other people influence my decisions. At 22 you are old enough to make your own decisions - it's not your mother's job to tell you what to do anymore.

Good for you!!! You'll do great!!! We actually had a group of sisters in our KH that did modelling!!! Some of us would go to their runway shows...it was fun!!! It's too bad that your Mom feels the way she does...but it really is just a JW mentality thing. I remember when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan show and my grandmother told us we were from the "Devil" for watching them or listening to their music...this from a woman that listened to and loved country music!!!

for what it is worth, I know a "sister" on the South Coast of GB who was a model, and she continued in good standing. OK I dont think she did it full time and no doubt was a little careful about the jobs she took, but I did see her picture in the local paper modelling a bikini.

I had a promising acting career and gave it up cause I felt guilty...my mother's comment was, "What if they ask you to play a prosititute?" Like I wouldn't have a choice what roles I wanted to play...it's just fear on their part. Your conscience should tell you if you are acting in a immodest way...there is an appropriate place for a bathing suit, and an inappropriate place (unless of course you ask a guy, and then they'll tell you there is no such thing!).
