I read your profile and couldn't help but notice how similar our backgrounds are. As an elder serving on judicial committees I was troubled by the changing 'truth'. You put it very well. In the final committee meeting (that resulted in my telling them to do what they had to do) I pointed to the comprehensive collection of the Societies publications all around us in the KH library. I asked them, Why are we not encouraged to study these? Why aren't they being re-published?

You have obviously crossed a threshold. I can tell you from experience that you can never go back to the org. with your heart or mind. You are so right to be indifferent to being DF'd. It really doesn't hurt! In fact it was a most liberating, wonderful feeling that gave me the strength to deal with the shunning from close family and friends.

I look forward to seeing you change your alias from 'undecided' to something that fits you better.

This is why I never post on dub troll threads except when I'm posting a pre-packaged flame. They usually go like this.

    Dub Poster:

Your sick and wrong. How dear you say these things about Jehovah! Your going to die in Armagetton! Your a lier!

    JWD Poster:

Blah blah blah, UN Scandal, blah blah blah, doctrinal flip flops, blah blah blah, misquotes from scientists, blah blah blah, Silent Lambs, blah blah blah, changed wording on Watchtower to cover up old beliefs, blah blah blah.

    Dub Poster:

Those videos R fake! The UN is Satins organization! Those molestation victims were lying just because they wanted to do there own thing!

Look at PMJ's posts and ask yourself, "does he deviate much from the hypothetical conversation"? He's not even worth it.

No matter how much we try to show him how corrupt his organization is, even if we had a letter straight from the UN admitting involvement with the Watchtower, or video showing a convicted child molestor going to people's door on a Saturday, he won't believe. He's too dumb to try to learn things that are contrary to his beliefs. Why do you think he can't even spell correctly? Knowledge is kryptonite to his pea-brain.

Replying to post earlier up the thread, as far as I know the apostles ceased to believe in an early return of Jesus after the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Pentecost, thereafter this Paraclete was guiding them in the truth.

Ah! But CRR, it isn't only about the person we are typing to and whether that person "gets" it. This thread has been viewed almost 700 times.

Lurkers benefit from the discussions in two huge ways. (1) They have an opportunity to observe the line of reasoning they are familiar with and determine whether it is reasonable and (2) they can observe the range of responses and find out that on the OUTSIDE there is more freedom of thought and expression than on the INSIDE.

There are other minor benefits, too. For instance, PMJ professes humility continually, but from his posts it is becoming increasingly clear that his perception of humility is limited to "humbly doing what the Governing Body Jehovah tells him to do." He thinks he is here saving people from raving apostates, when actually he is here driving lurking JWs farther away.

Maybe he is part of a black propaganda campaign but, whatever the case, it is having good effects. Even if the benefit is not to PMJ himself.

    Respectfully,
    AuldSoul

Praise God! I feel so blessed that I found this forum. To just name AuldSoul (no dis...love your writting style and sincere spirit) could be discouraging to the others (sometimes newbies) that seek and speak The Truth. In other words...keep it up folks!

I doubt if PMJ will go running back to the kingdom hall to tell all the brothers and sisters of his bad experienceon an ex-JW discussion board. He would have another bad experience on his hands if he did - this time, from his loving brothers and sisters!

PMJ seems very bruised by this post, but he does not appear to take responsibility for carefully reading what people actually write. Sadly , i n this regard, he is a typical JW: He evades specific questions, puts labels on other posters and points his finger at others.

But I will give PMJ this much: He has the guts to break the JW taboo on talking to apostates.

I'm sorry if this seems trivial, but I have to write it . . .

PMJ: It's know, not "no" when you're referring to having knowledge of something.

I can understand a typo here and there, but that repeated error is driving me nuts!

Also, I just want you to know, PMJ, that you've really been a great Witness . . . against the JW's. You've solidified my decision never to get baptized by them. And, no, it's not your grammar that did it . It's basically your refusal to even listen to a logical viewpoint or address logical points. As much as the Watchtower preaches humility, your attitude is a sterling example of the complete lack of humility shown by the organization. Thanks for the reinforcement!

There was NOTHING trivial about that post, lynnmelo.

Me thinks..... PMJ needs to up his/her meeting times to five days a week... or quit playing with the "new light switch"

It is interesting to me to see so many people trying to prove or disprove the witnesses buy using the Bible. The Bible acount of Jesus was written two generations after the man died! That is like writing the story of some WW1 or WW2 man without any eye witnesses or documentation. Do you really think it would be accurate?

I don't agree with the witnesses but I don't think that the first century religions were right either.
