anyone here ever go on a cruise with a large group of JW's?

The elder (Brother Pompous) and his wife I worked for in the IL congo I attended were always putting together little social functions for the "friends". They'd catagorize people and have parties for the different catagories (single sisters, families, couples, fellow elders and MS's, weak ones...). They were the ones who organized a big sledding party for several years at Christmas time too. I think Sister P was a frustrated travel agent/party planner. She sure did seem to enjoy putting this stuff together, sometimes spending all kinds of money and time making little party favors that, sadly, few bothered to take home. I often wondered if she was trying to keep so busy that she didn't have a spare minute to contemplate her life.
Later, after I'd moved away, they stated putting together cruise parties and other group trips...not sure how often they did this, probably up until my ex-boss got in trouble with the IRS and was removed as elder several years ago.
A good friend of mine joined them for one cruise and at least one other trip. I guess the cruise was enjoyable. The key seemed to be having enough different activities that the JW crowd could find plenty to do that didn't involve Brother Pompous. I also don't think it was a huge group that went...more like around 20 or so. Still, I'm pretty sure it wasn't something I would have been too keen on. I would worry about being trapped on a boat...and in a cabin with some of the people that went. LOL

Yes. Almost HALF the cruise ship were Witnesses. Over 300 on the ship. If jst2laws stops in, he can tell you how many Judicial Committees were handled on board, but the rumor was three.
If that is correct, then 1% of the Witnesses on board proved unfaithful to
the Governing BodyGod while on a ship with almost ALL Witnesses.Are cruises dangerous? No. No more than pornography is dangerous. Witnesses tend to blame anything for their choices but themselves.

I had a JW relative who thought it would be great to take his family on one of those tours and they took a picture much like the one you did.
I couldn't imagine bing trapped on a bus having to conform to brother and sister "tightass's" conscious.

I have friends who went on several cruises out of NY in the 90's.
They loved it but always some one would come back to the KH and complian about some sort of loose conduct by some couple.
MY wife and 2 other couples are going on a cruise in May.
It will be very interesting because one couple is faded as is my wife and I and the other couple is active.
What ever happens it won't cramp my style.
I am going to smoke, drink and gamble.
