I would make my decision based on the circumstances of this person. Would I take in a convict? probably not.
Most other circumstances I would help the person out.
I agree! I no longer allow the WTS to tell me who I can associate with, but a person should exercise common sense.

My father a good christian(non-JW) took in two homeless JWs as the JW community was not interested in showing christian empathy.
This example has had a deep influence on me.
