Awake! Less Emphasis on the Bible!

  I picked up the March copy of the Awake! magzine, looking to find more "emphasis on the Bible."

  To tell you the truth, there is absolutely nothing of the kind!

  The front page is "What's happened to love?" and starts off with negative statistics.

  Then there are 2 or 3 pages on the coffee bean.

  One page of watching the world, and the back page has a kids game to locate pictures of people in the magazine.

  The articles are still written for people who are learning English as a second language.

  What a joke!

  I miss the extra space that the "watching the world" part took up in the older Awakes. That was the best part of the awake as a kid (screw Young people ask) and since then, i've always turned to the end of the magazine first.

  You are right. What a complete joke the Awake magazine is. It's basically about as spiritually edifying as the readers digest.

  Don't knock the noble coffee bean! Now that the noble tobacco leaf is out of my life, the bean and me have gotten much closer. (And we were already pretty close!)

  Anybody know where a scan of the new Awake might lie on ye ol' Internet?

  Did anyone else used to prefer highlighting the Awake mag as opposed to the WT mag when out witnessing. How would you go with this one?

  Hi we're calling on our neighbours talking to them about what has happened to love in society and about the humble coffee bean. I'm sure you'll find this magazine very interesting and informative on both topics.

  HAHAHAHA......

  Come on WTBTS give the non-JW people some more credit. If you seriously want them to read your little magazines at least make them interesting to read. Society in general doesn't care about that crap. If they want to know more about weird arse topics like that they can google them!

  Who ever believed the line about more emphasis on the Bible in the new monthly edition anyway??

  The Awake seems to have gone the way of those awful and bland Seventh-Day Adventist magazines: You can read from cover to cover and never guess the religion it "belongs" to. Like a neutered Reader's Digest...Yuk. Give me the angry, black and white self-righteous hyperbole of the old-time Awakes anytime!
