Well, let's see what the current WTS problems are:

    1) From the yearly report, 1.3% increase - extremely low
    2) Year 2014 is approaching
    3) Dying off of anointed

#1 is all about money. They need something to boost up the numbers

#2 could cause more members to leave

#3 number hasn't changed in years.

I'm guessing they're going to do something to boost up the numbers a bit, like they did with the 15 minute publisher. Here's some things they could do:

    - Easier reinstatement process (less discouragement)
    - New armageddon prophecy time limit (might also take care of problem #2)
    - Lowering minimum hours spent in FS (less burnout)
    - Lowering number of meetings (less burnout)
    - Put in another stupid prophecy (sign of the end times)

Remember, the effect on donations would be considered first.

The Watchtower told us in that same article that things are going to get tougher. Read paragraph 21 on page 20:

"'Accepting a change when it comes and adapting to it can be difficult,' admits one longtime elder. 'Having the right attitude is the key. Refusing to accept a refinement is to be left behind as the organization moves ahead. If I find myself in a situation where changes seem hard to accept, I reflect on Peter's words to Jesus: 'Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life.' Then I ask myself, 'Where shall I go away to--out there into the darkness of the world?' This helps me to hold firmly to God's organization.'"

Money is the bottom line for them. Re-read what Gary has written up above. Also Lawrence Hugh's efforts to publicise their insane anti-emergency blood transfusion policy up in Canada has also hurt their pocketbook. They do love their blood money.

What if a group of say three or four dads and moms whose children bled to death started picketing in Canada and the United States?

What if two bicycled or hiked across the U.S. to advertise the Watchtower's policies leading to deaths and raping of children?

I don't believe their growth is even 1% worldwide, and I believe in the U.S. it's actually more like a minus or negative 5%.

Dying membership figures mean dying money.

    They are dying.

    Change or die.

    Change time.

    When is it?

    Soon.

    Now.

As the elders say during pastoral visits "Brother xxxxx how can we help you, or what can we do for you"?

Reading through everyone's interesting posts, I don't think that they are likely to drop the blood issue. The minute they do that, they're finished. The blood issue, celebrations and taking shunning very seriously marks the JW from any other religion.

It could be that they might no longer require the publishers to have to put reports in and count hours.

Once that goes, and the counting ends, no one will be able to put a statistic on how many active JWs there really are and the decline of the WTBTS will no longer be charted. I figure, they're already doctoring and massaging the true figures...so if it's getting that bad, it might be in their own interests to stop the count! They already know how bad their situation is. They don't want everyone else to know.

The end of the WTBTS is nigh!

    Good point Gill.

I think most people lie purposely or by "technicalities" anyway.

ex: if you leave your house at 9:00 stop by a laundromat on the way to the meeting, then before you get to the first door you call someone, after you leave you last door then on the way home you also stop by the same laundromat.

in the above example the publisher put in a good 30 minutes of service, but in the eyes of the time slip the pub has done 3 hours or more.!!!

That is probably the most effective control the WTS exercises over it's clones, and I hate it. Sorry for the change, if you don't like it your only option is to accept it anyway, or be cast out and cut off.

    Those poor, enslaved clones.
