Freedom,
You're father is more of a man than mine. Congratulations.
Jean
Just to know he understands you and accepts you is worth more than gold.
amen to that.
woke up this morning and I have a huge smile on my face. I feel like everything will be okay no matter what happens now. I really needed to have my dad understand me through all this, or just to acept me no matter what I decided about the org.
thanks for the comments you guys.
you are quite outstanding humans IMO!
I'm glowing for you and jealous for me. That must have been so heartwarming to open up and read! I hope it's just the beginning of a better relationship with your dad.

Wow! Sounds to me like he may be on his way out too!

Wow fl, I'm so happy for you.
That was just the right human response, but in JW context it sounds like a miracle.
Also it shows that you knew him well.
Take good care now.
absolutely great news freedomlover
..... wouldn't it be funny if your dad had been "staying in" all these years because he didn't want to upset YOU?
there is a God!

Congrats! It don't get much better than that!

Sweet!
Now, how can I turn it in to advice for other exiting JW's? I think the key is you knew your dad, you took a tone in the letter that he would respond to, he was in a state of mind to accept you, and you spoke from the heart.
Do I have it right so far?
