SNG: Thanks for providing excellent perspective. They're really full of themselves, aren't they? I also spotted this bit of spin:

already 31 million copies have been produced in 141 languages, and that is in less than one year!

Translation: Six million dubs each have five copies squirrelled away on a shelf.

Gawd, SNG! I've got tears in my eyes, that was amazing!

Don't think too hard about the waste of time, energy, and resources that religion is responsible for; it'll eat you alive!

“What Does the Bible Really Teach?” is a compact educational tool directing readers to the key passages that most people wish to locate in their personal copies of the Bible.

I thought every verse is a key passage.

Is this some more of their loaded language that means we take scriptures out of context to prove our crazy doctrines?

A good example of this WATCHTOWER concept is their rendition of Romans 6:7 taken out of context that fits right in with their new book of deception.

SNG, I concur, and yet, intellectuality is scorned in the Bible.......the oft quoted scripture in 1Cor. 1:26, 27(NIV) 26" Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." and then there is this one, found in Ecclesiastes 12:12
"Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body." (of course, we could apply that to the WTS, could we not?) Terri

All that stuff they wrote years ago, now they don't want you to read. All this stuff they are writing now, years from hence they will not want you to read. What a waste of paper. Save the trees!

"In the 1950s, while the Watchtower Society was finally getting around to admitting vaccination was not a "devilish practice," as they had maintained for at least 18 years previous, Francis Crick was describing the structure of DNA for the first time."

Wow. There's some perspective for you! I never thought of it that way. Reminds me of the Catholic Church issuing their official apology to Galileo in 1992, following several centuries of corroboration of his findings.

Another book! What about the GB and elders being held accountable for the flip-flops, lies, deceit, misrepresentation, pain and suffering death and murder already caused by the intertwining of man's doctrine and dogma? What is REAL anymore? Can anyone help me decide? How about those GB and other common elders that read these posts? You got a pair? Any of you care to step up and give a REAL honest answer? You know who I am. Payment is coming due!

The book is actually "What the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society Teaches (For Dummies)". It has only a tenuous connection with the concepts in the Bible itself.

    GET TO KNOW YOUR BIBLE

There are 66 books and letters that make up the Bible. These are divided into chapters and verses for easy reference. When scriptures are cited in this publication, the first number after the name indicates the chapter of the Bible book or letter, and the next refers to the verse. For example, the citation “2 Timothy 3:16” means the second letter to Timothy, chapter 3, verse 16.

Is this designed for 5 year olds? Or do they think they are the only ones on earth that know how to use text/verse designations?

My Gawd, has the writing always been so grammar-school or is this one just really baby-food?

When I kicked the sides out of the box they kept me in for decades I never knew the writing was this juvenile. [Sound of puking.]

    Jeff

BTW - is there a pdf copy of this somewhere online available?

Designed for use as an introductory textbook, already 31 million copies have been produced in 141 languages, and that is in less than one year!

What a scam! Lets take a look at what really this sentence is saying.

    • 31 million copies, already SOLD. Remember the R/F are encouraged to donate for ALL literature they recieve.
    • Then if they place any out in Service, they are to ask for a DONATION. They get paid AGAIN.
    • Anyone smell the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
