If our race survived, what we would be like in 1 million years,10 mill,200 mill..........
Science fiction flicks have us conditioned to ETs who are more advanced than us by a couple of hundred years or so. Think about this....What if they were advanced, not by a few centuries but by a million years? Well, if Heaven exist their 'civilization' would be BILLIONS of years more advanced, and superhuman to begin with. They could have a multi-dimensional database, and could have unlimited (omnipotent) abilities. Raising the dead would be a walk in the park for them .
If we could see the intelligent life on another world , I think it would evolve like ours. A slow beginning- a quick rise to the intelligent super species , then with a violent self destruction. By the time our radio signals reach a world populated with intelligent creatures our species will have already passed from the scene.
If our governments switch from 5-10 year planning to 1000 year planning for the future, then we might be able to beat the odds.
peace,
Moshe
Although I'm not into the whole UFO shit and aliens in every corner, common sense indicates that this crappy planet is NOT, can not, be the only one with so-called "inteligent" life, out of, how many? Hundreds of millions of other planets, systems, galaxies, wathever... you get my point. Or do you?
man freaky moshe, we have the same theory, you aren't me are you.
how could you count to 8 billion galaxies, it would take decades and if you lost count somewhere along the way you would have to start over.
life giving moon i bow to thee
With the TRILLIONS of GALAXIES and GOOGLES of stars there have to be some with life on them!! I'll chalk this entire thread up to human arrogance and stroll on by...
thats just ludicrous. oh there are so many of them, there must be life on them.
there are so many grains of sand on the see, one of them must be a diamond.
there was a recent science show, I think on discovery channel, showing how a planet could actually orbit close enough to a red dwarf star and having no moon, would stay with one side always pointing to that star.... they did computer modeling and unlike their initial guessing, they found a life band could exist on such a world where life like our own could arise.
thats just ludicrous. oh there are so many of them, there must be life on them.
We just do not know what are the exact nessesary elements for life. We do not know the chances on forming live in given conditions, so yes that is only speculation. In both cases.
The odds are however that if it formed once, why not twice or more times. That seems more logical, but not nessesary.
We can say that intelligent life is not that abundant that it exists in almost every solor system or so. There are enough hints that it is sparse

Well actually that is true. Now go and find it
