Have you read "Crisis of Conscience"? I found it very helpful when I still had some doubts.

Also the fact that an overseer's response to a question about shunning was "You shouldn't spend so much time thinking about details."

Google Jehoavh and songs. There are plenty of songs about Jehovah that many Christian denominations sing.

What's wrong with war? Jehovah had some of the Israelites war against their own nation once.

Look at all the Christian missionaries who preach about Jesus around the world. The WTBT$ doesn't hardly mention His name.

I'm with Blondie and others. Once you RESEARCH everything with an open mind, it is IMPOSSIBLE to believe Jehovah's Witnesses have the "truth". Anything your dad could say to answer you, we could disprove him, here.

Every notion of the witness organization being moral and honest and with deepest integrity has been shown false.

Every notion of the witness organization being chosen by God and selected to do his exclusive will has been debunked here.

You have nothing to fear but fear itself. Accuracy, integrity, divine proof would not be missing from the "Truth".

Your dad is probably pretty well-versed in responding to anticipated questions - you should ask him to read Crisis of Conscience and answer some of the issues raised by Ray Franz.

However, just because he can some up with some contrived, convoluted answers, doesn't mean you have to be satisfied with them. Then it can devolve into a plain old argument - wouldn't Jesus be proud to have people twisting each others arms over the good news of his kingdom?

You can always point out the lack of genuine love in the organization as proof enough.

Occasionally. The first six months that I started questioning I was very scared that if the big A came I was going to be the only one in my family who died. But as I learned more about the history of the watchtower, the UN, and 587, the fear has faded. The more I learn the less I worry. I know in my heart there is no way that "the truth" is the truth. It just takes time. The truth will set you free.

In the end, it matters not to me if the dubyas have the truth. If they do (they dont) I dont want any part of a tiny/psychotic god as their's is.

I used to before I really looked into things, but then I visited JWD and talked to my mom about different teachings from JW's that just didn't make sense, or were wrong, and thats when I finally realized that they do not have the truth, no more guily conscience for doing normal things for lucifer
