CS1975: May I respectfully suggest that you might be better off enjoying and getting a more fulfilling life instead if worrying about the end times.

In other words: get a life.😉

LOL. You know, it just occurred to me that this post is really a SURVEY of the mental state of most/many in this group. Seems to me if Armageddon were to start immediately after the eclipse, there is nothing to prevent most to claim it was just a "coincidence" and had nothing to do with the eclipses.

I suppose I found it interesting that many non-JWs were paying attention to this and alerted me to the two prophecies linking two eclipses to Jehovah's Day. From a JW point of view, the sun turning dark and the moon into blood would have been symbolic and have a double meaning anyway; you know, the Sun representing Jesus and the Moon his bride, the 144,000. But then the moon turning to blood is specific to an eclipse, so maybe Armageddon (actually, the great tribulation) is actually foreboded by two literal eclipses! So I couldn't dismiss the prophecy as not possibly, indeed, referring to two literal eclipses that would begin Jehovah's Day in connection with this upcoming Passover.

Maybe we'll observe something else significant about this upcoming Passover in connection with the WTS? It is not obvious to me just what, though.

Anyway, 46 days and counting, right?

Armageddon as explained by the WTS is a situation. Basically, it is the last event of the "great tribulatoin" when Jehovah starts to kill off people loyal to the world governments. Governments are only in the minds of the people loyal to them. Kill off enough people and the government ceases to exist.

Armageddon thus is the "situation" where Jehovah and Christ face off against the ruling powers in the world. World rule must shift from the nations to Christ's kingdom at some point. That transition doesn't happen without the nations being destroyed since they don't give up world rule voluntarily. Specifically, the UN world government face off with Jehovah's armies when their time is up.

One thing that might be a bit different than the way the WTS depicts Armageddon, is that the spoils of the world will be spared for the survivors. So killing off masses of people will probably not be via massive earthquakes and thunder and lightning and volcanic eruption. Why leave a "post nuclear" world for the survivors to inherit and clean up, when you can do an Exodus number on them and just kill off everybody in their sleep? The context of Armageddon is a great feast of bodies for the birds to eat, not a lot of destroyed buildings. The Bible also says that people will go mad and will start killing themselves off. So in reality, lots and lots and lots of dead bodies being eaten by the birds, not a lot of thunder and lightning. The world's infrastructure will thus basically be left intact.

Isa 6:13 suggests one-third of the earth's population will survive to be ruled over by Christ and the 144,000.

So that is something wonderful to look forward to! World peace. One king. One priest. One religion. Good health. Life for 1000 years until Satan is let loose at the end of 1000 years. A world without the influence of Satan for 1000 years. Time for a change.

Of course, everybody will be equal so everybody will be basically doing their own laundry, living under their own vine and their own fig tree, essentially. That is, a world where everyone is equal and there is no lower class resembles a communistic state, doesn't it, except there will be no dishonest greedy politicians cheating everybody out of the common wealth. No doctors needed but in general everyone will do their part and share in the bounty. There will be no rich upper class, but also no poverty either.

THE BASICS: Basically, sometime after April 4th of this year, there is a global economic crisis that force the nations to form the UN world authority, which is already being put into place, amazingly. There will be some initial hardships. But all the money the world banks are using to hold the world hostage will be raided. The Federal Reserve will be outlawed and all its funds seized. That's an easy legal process since the Federal Reserve and the CIA are linked with gun running and drug dealing.

Then God will give the nations 1 year and 3 months to rule (Daniel 7:12). By then the UN will have declared "peace and security" (a phrase oft used by Obama, BTW) and that is when "sudden destruction" will be upon them. God kills off 1/3 of the world's population, the governments collapse, Christ takes over.

Nothing we can do but stock up a week's worth of water and food basically, or maybe 2 weeks worth so we can stay out of the streets during all the chaos of the economic crash.

You should phrase it the same way as the WT does, you know, so if it happens you can say "See, you were warned!", but if it doesn't happen you can say "We never said it was definite!".

    Here's an example:

KM 2014 03 p.2 Para 4. 'Will You Seize the Opportunity?'
"Will this Memorial be our last? We do not know."

Which is a rerun of the WT 1918 Mar 1st 'In Memory of our King'
"Whether the coming Memorial will be the last on earth, we do not, of course, know"

So if you don't know, why say it? It's hardly a loud warning to save peoples lives, and it's sitting on the fence, playing with words, because you actually have no idea yourself.

One thing is true though. Keep saying that every month, every year "this will be it", and at some point you will be right.
No-one will be listening by then, of course.

Right! "And they took no note, until the flood came and swept them away."

For the believers, the Bible says when we start to see these things, to lift up our heads because our deliverance is getting near. So I'm getting excited! No more earthly governments taking away our divine right to use drugs!

we always have tribulation. the great tribulation was , in mu opinion, the destruction of Jerusalem in 70.

when this happened, so much history was burned to the ground that we may never know what really happened.

all scriptures were written after the fact [and surely written so that all things seemed to fit in line with a claimed prophecy.]

now Nostradamus could be considered a prophet of sorts as well, if someone can use his writings to claim they fit the 9/11 situation, then how talented were those early writers of fiction?

the Great tribulation had to have happened in those days, because THEY were being told to be aware. I have simply found not one scripture that tells us that there is a second third or fourth application of a future re-fulfillment . where does it say in the bible ...

'and many thousands of years from today, I truly tell you ,that man must keep ready, for the same shall pass over them'

Actually, you are exactly right! Only there is a LEGAL aspect to this. It is similar to the mandate that if you know there is coming destruction and you don't go and warn that person, then their blood is on your hands -- you become blood guilty. But if you warn that person and they ignore you, then it's all on them. They can't say nobody warned them. So it's like a LEGAL NOTICE. You've been legally notified so that just in case it does happen, you can't go to court and say you had no warning, this isn't fair, please give me another chance, if someone told me I would have surely paid attention! The people delivering the message expect to be ignored by most of the people they deliver it to, but they still have to deliver the warning.
