Thanks guys, I guess I had worried that it was perhaps being taken to assume that I was being judgmental. As you all have mentioned, that’s not our place.
According to JW, they only love you if you are peddling magazines, if you don't the love is GONE.
Yeah, that’s it. I guess, when I read the teachings of Jesus, I get this very strong sense of love. That we aren’t here to judge. We aren’t here to provide conditional love based on the latest teaching of the WTS.
I’ve talked with so many people lately who left the WTS or chose not to follow through with studies w/ them, because of the serious lack of love. And it hit me…
All my life that I was raised a jw I believed that ‘we’ were “it” because of what ‘we’ had to offer in terms of the teaching of the parousia, of 1914, of the use of the word/name Jehovah.
But after talking with so many and reading so many stories…
What was really important, that was missing, was the sincere love and affection.
People the world over, regardless of denomination or faith, read the words of Jesus and find a consistent teaching of love.
How did I ever miss that?
All the scriptures that have been added to this thread, I have saved, because I have found them very helpful.
Hm, reminds me of an old Bon Jovi song… without love. There’s nothing without love.
Or, ..John and Paul…………
All you need is Love
