I remember this being discussed from the stage at a District Convention - mid-80's, I think.
The speaker told all of in attendance (sweating in the hot sun at Dodger Stadium) that there is no reason for us not to bathe daily with soap and warm water. There are only a very few places on earth where is is not possible to bathe daily and even in those places one can usually bathe at least every few days.

I still follow the directive even though I'm no longer active in the org.

Everytime someone does one of these threads people come and claim to shower twice a day. Now, when I was a teen, I did this during the summer because I lived in Atlanta and it was HOT there. My hair was very oily and needed washing that often.
My point is, I don't think most folks are going to be truly honest about skipping a day and just doing the sponge bath in between, but that is what dermatologists recommend, especially during the winter, for the health of your skin. I'll be honest, during the winter if I can't shower everyday, I do so every other day with a sponge bath of the important stuff in between. During the summer I try for everyday. I change undies every day and I don't allow myself to get stinky. Now, anyone else want to tell the truth?

I shower once a day except when it's very cold in which case I shower once every two days so as not remove too much cold protecting oil from the skin.

I shower or bathe--check this out--every day and a half! So I alternate mornings and nights.
My little guy can't bathe very frequently because he gets dry skin and is itchy. Every three or four days for him, a run a nice warm bathtub.
My doctor once told me I have the "cleanest ear canals he's ever seen." Truth be told, 3 drs told me this. two were Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist for ear infections. I have an odd addiction to Q-tips. The thought of dirty ears really freaks me out, so I clean WAYYYYYY too much. (This is bad, don't do this!!!!! Ear wax is your body's way of protecting your ear canal. If you are bad like me and clean the inside of the ear canal, shame shame shame!!!)
OK I have shamefully told you all my vice. Q-Tips!!!! LOL, once I was kissing a boyfriend who had a real love of ear nibbling. Um, if I taste anything, I'm OUT!!!!! Warm soapy washcloth daily PLEASE!
