If you really want to scare a JW -charge them with Apostacy.
What happens is the kiss of death regarding JWs. You have absolutely no defense such a charge. To even suspect someone is a apostate is to invite complete shunning. Highly possible even your own father and mother brothers and sister, aunts uncles, cousin, etc. Will treat you as dead. Thus the warning.
If the love of your life even suspects that you are leading her down the road to apostacy, you could get complete and total rejection. No explaination, that's it, your dead.
Regarding Dateline see other threads in these forums. It's about pediphiles in the JW Org. I can see that as the only thing that could compare to the charge of apostacy. However, now not only are you are an outcast from the JWs (which is the apparent future Dateline report - it charges that reports of pediphiles are dismissed or covered over, etc.) but also the whole world.
If, of course true, righfully so.
