    Hi Bruce and all.

I look At the Forum now and again,But dont do much posting. I am a luddite as far as computers go.

These days i just about manage a few houses a day.I am getting too old. My ex window cleaning partner, who also thought that the end was due in 1975 was still at it until he sadly died a couple of years ago.Yes we are part of the great army of theocratic window cleaners.

I guess it all depends on how you define "good job", "crappy job" and "happily". Up until last April, I was in corporate America for quite a few years. I had several VERY well paying jobs (for a girl with a smidge of college education) but they ran me into the ground. Usually, I loved the job itself, but the managers and the politics of the company (or my coworkers) were nightmares to work for. The money was good, but I hated the atmosphere. Now I work part-time for an interior designer while I get my own photography company ramped up. The design job is "okay", but the boss is a flake, and I'm really looking at it as a means to an end. I've tried looking for another full-time job, but the market doesn't seem to be that good right now.

So now I work for myself and LOVE what I do. It just isn't paying well. I'm getting more disciplined about my time and starting to get into a comfortable workflow. WHEN I have the work. It's ramping up slowly. But perhaps that's good until I really get my feet on the ground.

    *sigh*

I guess I have what most people would consider a "good job". I am in senior management for a Fortune 500 company, with a specialty in sales. The money is good, the politics suck, and after over 20 years in corporate America, I am sick of making money for someone else and not having control of my life.

This year is the year that I am going to start my own venture and work for myself.

I am a little nervous about it and of course I want to continue to live the lifestyle I have come accustomed to, but I am confident that with a lot of hard work, I can suceed.

I should have done this a long time ago, but since I drank the Kool Aid of the "lie", and the "the End Was Near", I didn't want to devote the time needed to make it on my own.

Same here, but I'm still here. With several of my ex in laws, all Jdubs. Between that and the back stabbing politics, it's about to run me over the edge

It took about 10 years of university to get here but I am finally a tenure-track Professor in a great University. The pay is awesome, and I usually get to attend 3-4 international research conferences in Europe, Asia or North America every year. Its high stress and competitive especially in my specialty but I would have to say I am doing exactly what I want to be doing. No complaints here!

I am self-employed. It would be going great except that I have a lot of witness customers, which is complicated since I haven't been at meetings in about eight months. I struggle with deciding whether or not to dump them and get rid of that stress, or keep them and enjoy the money. My business is finally to the point that I am making enought money that I never have to stress about the bills.

Most the time I think I should keep all of my customers. I give them good work at a good price; if they want to fire me for "fading", let it be on their shoulders.

I love what I do, but not where I'm doing it. The only real challenge I encounter here is the challenge of keeping my cool when dealing with people who are utterly stupid.

Currently working both as a staff and adjunct faculty member in an educational institution. Doing exceptionally well compared to my former life when I was "putting kingdumb interests first...".
