Anyone in UK saw the premiere of "Torchwood" tonight? Is it good? Does Captain Jack appear in the first episode? We're getting series two of Doctor Who now in the US, and as much as I liked the last Doctor, I'm really liking David Tennant too. They showed the premiere of "Girl in the Fireplace" on Friday and it was the best thing I've seen yet...the ending made me cry a little.
Doctor who?

Although I was surprised that I was a little satisfied by the way they tied up the end of the second series, I just don't like this new era Dr Who. I wish they'd either left it alone, or done a Star Trek and come up with a "TimeLords: The Next Generation". But to ask the BBC to be creative in any area other than Bush/Blair bashing seems to be to ask too much, these days.

I started watching Dr. Who in the Tom Baker era. Then we couldn't get it here in the US. I'm glad it is back. David Tennant was just in a PBS series about the life of Casanova.

BTW Elsewhere, Daleks have been levitating up stairwells at least since the erly 80s...

I personally think it peaked with Tom Baker. This new guy in the pin-stripe suit isn't too bad as the Doctor, however.

The new series is fantastic - you will love it.
What's esp. good is that they are not just single episode adventures but the whole series is an ongoing stories and a lot of what happens interrelates (more so in the 2nd series)

Leolaia.
Caught the first two episodes of Torchwood on BBC3 last night.
It was great. Dr. Who spin off for adults (It had sex in itand violence)
By the way. Daleks are particularly terrifying now. Their achilles heel is gone. They have a new power and a new command. ELEVATE. ELEVATE.
(on a side note I would like to say that the WT is right. Film and TV have reached terrible levels of sex and violence. . . .)

Groan! Not another thing to try to avoid! The only reason I've seen any of Dr Who Mk2 is that my wife absolutely loves it, and I end up watching it because it's on before Iron Chef!
