What Things Irritated You While A Witness?

The way other religions were talked about, how the people who weren't JW's were scorned, just as those who were not in the "IN" crowd at the KH were.

The very noticeable lack of genuine love and concern for the fellow witnesses.

The holier-than-thou attitude of the elders and their wives (some, not all)

The way the r&f children were chased after and monitored, and reproved,or DF'd, while the elders kids got away with everything. (In my congregation anyways)

I could list a few more things that irritated the hell out of me, but this'll do .

The time wasted in field service.

We hear time and time again that we are in the last days, to preach more and more and more ...

Examples are always given of how we should view the preaching work, as if the people are in a burning building and we are giving them a warning to get out, blah, blah blah.

Then, in reality, we spend most of the time preaching either in the donut shop, driving across town repeatedly to return visits that we know aren't home or other ways of "keeping on the time clock" so we can report that as preaching time each month.

I never see ANY sense of urgency among those preaching, myself included. It's more simply a way of making things as comfortable as possible to count the time.

It really irritated me to know how hypocritical it all was. Elders would preach come to the meetings and get involved... where were their wives? At home sleeping! And how they would talk about going out in service, when they could never make it out in service themselves. Oh, and how I was considered bad association, while the elders daugther was pregnant, but not bad association because she wasn't baptized.... And how they would go over time... the list goes on...

Those who felt a need to have their exceptional singing voice recognized by all... Sister M.M. was also the wearer of a hearing aid, and belted out the whole song in alto. Sometimes the song had finished before her screeching did, hehehe!

Seeing someone not an elder that "qualified" and seeing an unqualified elder have a lifetime appointment.

Having to shun people I still liked was the worst for me

The constant criticism of other religions from the platform irked me as well
