Yep, absolutely. As far as I know they will not let you marry at the Hall without asking you if you have been "clean".
Personally, even though I was an active witness and so was my wife, I insisted on being married somewhere other than the Kingdom Hall. I hate Kingdom Hall weddings and I always have. You have to allow anyone who wants to come, even if they aren't invited. But you wouldn't believe the comments I got and the rumors that went around. Everyone assumed that I was not allowed to get married at the Hall, which was not true. In fact, i did have my uncle who was an elder give our talk, and he even asked me beforehand if we had followed the bible's counsel for courtship (gag).

Excellent point, Sherri! Theocratic warfare includes not telling the truth to those who do not have a right to know! So, either fib, evade, or...go someplace pretty and befitting a lovely wedding occasion to get married. My husband and I dodged them all and went to a Las Vegas wedding chapel!
About the time I left, there was a spell of registry office weddings, including elders sons, etc. Of course, everyone knows why they weren't allowed to marry at the kingdom hall even though no announcement of anything had been made. I thought it was becoming a bit werid that so many weddings were'nt at the kingdom hall but not suprised how many had not been able to keep their fingers to themselves.

Dr Jekyll, *some* did believe and yet at such a young age with all those rushing hormones, gave in to a crushing desire, and took all the pain and guilt and anxiety that came with it, maybe even marrying because of it.
