There have been a couple of threads started lately (and I'm sure many in the past as well) of dubs ask us apostates what they have since leaving the borg. Most people have responded that they enjoy their freedom, the ability to think independently. But freedom and independent thinking are shunned by the dubs.
So I ask the question,
Why be afraid of freedom and what are they really afraid of?
Loneliness.
It is psychological what psychologists call being gripped by a regressive power that restrains one from going out to meet the world with a solid determination to succeed and play things out on equal terms.
It's a morbid childish fear, a feebleness of spirit. The FDS instead of acting in a curative way on such illnesses, as someone holding a religious office should do, he seeks to perpetuate and exploit them for his own good.
IOW they encourage human weakness rather than cure it and they thus betray their function. That gives away their true nature.
Freedom of thought threatens:
1. Their hope of life in the paradise.
2. Their family connections.
3. It means they may have wasted their entire life on a house of cards belief system; the WT knows that if the average dub learns the truth about blood, or child sex abuse policy, they will realize that the same limited intellects that decided that if no one saw Uncle Billy rape little suzy, it didn't happen, are also writing DOCTRINE, the game is OVER.
That is what happened to me, and here I am.
The opposite of freedom is fear. JW's live in fear of elders of GB of armeggedon. They do not know what true freedom is.
How have you broken free from this fear?

The fear is of having to make one's own decisions about the unknown. As long as there is someone given authority outside of ones' self, a person doesn't have to make these decisions on their own. God does, or Jehovah, or the religion.
Some people are ultimately frightened of accepting personal responsibility for the whole of their existence... freedom.

3 quarters of their brain belong to the WBT. The rest cant function them 3 quarters. The fear of fixing that is great because you dont know what to expect.
I believe JWs are afraid of three things:
Sadly the WTS creates the illusion of #3 and creates conditions for #1 and #2.
