How could you take this seriously? It's almost comical.

Its a WT article on their official website called the "The Danger Zone"

"The Danger Zone"... isn't that an old Kenny Loggins song for the Top Gun movie soundtrack?

Here is the WT "Danger Zone"...

The prophet Zephaniah says: "The great day of Jehovah is near. It is near, and there is a hurrying of it very much. . . . By the fire of his zeal the whole earth will be devoured, because he will make an extermination, indeed a terrible one, of all the inhabitants of the earth." Although "neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah's fury," there is a way to survive that fear-inspiring day.-Zephaniah 1:14-18.

That was written 2,500 years ago.

I can't imagine living my life with all the negativity that surrounds J-Wdom. Life will bring you all that you attract, and if you try to get down life's road constantly slogging through the mud on the side, you'll not only travel a very short distance, you'll be extremely tired and dirty to boot. I remember as a kid, the Witnesses would leave the Watchtower with my mom (who would only take it to be kind). I was intrigued by the pictures, but freaked out by all of the doom and gloom. I never felt good about the magazines, even as a kid.

Fast forward ... I try to avoid any negativity whatsoever (if I can) - life's sooooo much better that way.

This book of reliable prophecy is the Bible

    LMAOROFL!!!

Yeah right, I think Nostradamus has provided more reliable prophecies than this work of inspired silliness.....

Huh, I thought the Society when writing to the general public avoids claiming that only JWs will be saved in Armageddon and that 6 billion + people will be destroyed. This article seems to claim that one must become a JW to be saved from God's wrath, no?

This book of reliable prophecy is the Bible. Interestingly, the context of the above-mentioned scripture passage gives a detailed description of things that will lead up to the global calamity. Just as the lava dome and other volcanic indicators gave the Shimabara city officials reasons for designating a danger zone, the Bible gives us reasons for being on the alert and for preparing ourselves for survival. We can learn a lesson from the tragedy at Mount Fugen and discern the gravity of what lies ahead.

Yeah, right. The lesson learned was DON'T STAY IN THE PROXIMITY OF A BUBBLING, ACTIVE VOLCANO!!! No prophecy needed.

OK, I can hang with this example. As far as their "book of reliable prophecy" is concerned, I'm a tad more skeptical. The volcano was active and the people could see, hear and experience its activity. It wasn't some bullshit invisible presence or other "prophesied" stuff. It was real!

If jehooba and jeebus could manifest something proveable (very important) then I think they'd get a better reception. If the Japanese authorities and vulcanologists had relied on innuendo and other bible-type "warnings" instead of telling the locals to "get the hell out!" I'd bet they would have had a lot more than 43 casualties. You can't beat the direct approach.
