This is my second post and I was wondering, I know we (I am still a JW) are not allowed to take blood transfusions, is there any proof the society is going to change their thinking on this issue. Does anyone know?

Witnesses DO take transfusions. They take their own whole blood and it's called reinfusion. The also take ALL fractions of ALL components.

There really is no PROOF that they will change anything soon, but they have changed their views on blood drastically in the past.

check this site out.....I'll try to find the exact articles I was thinking of. It gives a time line of the changes the society has made on blood. -

Currently there is nothing in writing. However, there are rumors from the Headquaters that there is soon to be a change in some of the thinking behind BT. When it actually comes down to the minions, who knows.

The WTS has been gradually adjusting what constitutes a blood transfusion.
This website:
is great for following the timeline. Also some of the people who run it are current Hospital Liaison Committee members and past members.
Are you a JW? Have you been one for long? Did you do some research of the WT publications before you posted here? Have you talked to any elders regarding your questions?

Thanks for all the information! I am going to do some research. Blondie, I've been a witness since 1989, when I turned 17. I have never talked about this issue with the elders or would ever tell them I have visited this site. I am still as they know in good standing and do not want to be kicked out just yet.
