I remember a few district conventions, and some parts in the Witness history books, that had these leaders of the Witnesses claiming to put the world on notice. What a joke, did they actually have some warped idea that government leaders were actually paying attention to them and shaking in their boots. I would doubt that their words even made it beyond the neighborhoods we preached in and unless the mayor of that small town was behind one of those doors, it was unlikely that anyone in government cared or listened. Yet in my youthful foolishness, I actually thought those comments meant something and in some warped stupid way, I thought it was something taken serious. What did we think we were, a terrorist group for God or something?
Putting the world on notice! Like anyone cared!

I remember. JWs really think they are the centre of the Universe, with the whole world (material and spiritual) keenly interested in their every utterance.
In reality they are just a paranoid dead-end religion with delusions of grandeur.

I bet ya $1 that the Society never once told the United Nations how they 'felt' -

Actually, the WTS has printed things in the past in their publications that came back to bite them in the butt when outside individuals or groups pointed it out to the governments.
In reality, for the WTS it is a CYA measure justifying God's destruction of all the "wicked" (all non-JWs) and the governments in the "NEAR FUTURE."

I remember even when I believed this was "the Truth", how totally dumb it sounded when some old goat at the summer assemblies would practically scream from the platform that they were, as you said, "putting the world on notice" for one thing or another. I actually found it quite embarassing, because no one was paying the slightest bit of attention to them.
Didn't they "put the world on notice" that they were all going to be destroyed in 1914? And then in 1918/1925/1945 etc???
Funny, the only time the world has noticed the WTS at all, is over something that they prefer to keep quiet, like harbouring pedophiles, letting people die instead of taking a blood transfusion, being affiliated with the United Nations..........what morons.......

I think if anybody read these passages in the WT publications and sent a copy to the governments and UN, they might wonder about the WTS agenda.

w99 5/1 p. 17 "Let the Reader Use Discernment" ***Revelation depicts "a scarlet-colored wild beast" that exists for a time, disappears, and then returns. (Revelation 17:3, 8) This beast is supported by world rulers. Details supplied in the prophecy help us to identify this symbolic beast as a peace organization that came into existence in 1919 as the League of Nations (a "disgusting thing") and that is now the United Nations.
***
w96 6/1 p. 17 Flight to Safety Before the "Great Tribulation" ***As a successor to the League, the United Nations came into being on October 24, 1945. Later, the popes of Rome hailed the United Nations as "the ultimate hope for harmony and peace" and "the supreme forum of peace and justice." Yes, the League of Nations, along with its successor, the United Nations, truly became an idol, a "disgusting thing" in the sight of God and of his people.

w01 11/15 p. 19 Jehovah Is Our Refuge ***Anointed Christians are like alien residents living in tents apart from this system of things. (1 Peter 2:11) ‘Not even a plague draws near their tent.’ Whether our hope is heavenly or earthly, we are no part of the world, and we are not infected by such spiritually deadly plagues as its immorality, materialism, false religion, and worship of "the wild beast" and its "image," the United Nations.—Revelation 9:20, 21; 13:1-18; John 17:16.

w00 1/15 pp. 12-13 "Keep on the Watch" ***Third,
we are living in the time of the eighth and final "king" mentioned in the prophecy recorded at Revelation 17:9-11. Here the apostle John mentions seven kings, representing seven world powers—Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, and the Anglo-American dual world power. He also sees "an eighth king" that "springs from the seven." This eighth king—the last one that John envisions—now represents the United Nations. John says that this eighth king "goes off into destruction," after which no further earthly kings are mentioned.*** w99 5/1 p. 15 "Let the Reader Use Discernment" ***
Demonstrating the confidence of Jehovah’s servants that this prophecy would be fulfilled, The Watchtower of January 1, 1921, focused on it in connection with developments in the Middle East. Subsequently, in its December 15, 1929, issue, on page 374, The Watchtower definitively said: "The whole tendency of the League of Nations is to turn the people away from God and from Christ, and it is therefore a desolating thing, the product of Satan, and an abomination in the sight of God." So in 1919 "the disgusting thing" appeared. In time, the League gave way to the United Nations. Jehovah’s Witnesses have long exposed these human peace organizations as disgusting in God’s sight
