If you still pray, what do you get out of it?

well, if that's the way you would approach prayer, then you get exactly what your thoughts are. I think the problem is not in praying, it's your approach to prayer.

I didn't start off that way, I became like that because nothing happens favorably.

It can be favorable if you take the time ... anything of true value takes time.

I Goggled "effective prayer" - only because I was trying to quickly find something written down that is in line with what has taken me years to discover. The first couple of things I found were too 'negative', meaning too 'religious' in approaching God. Then I found this one link of which 80 percent I agree with from my experiences. Read it, don't judge it.... be open to the possiblities of exploring and see where it will take you. There's so much more..., but you'll have to discover that yourself.

    Here's a couple of paragraphs....

    " Elsewhere in the book:

The way is extremely simple, but definitely not easy. Still, it is no more difficult than learning to speak a foreign language, studying a new subject, or learning to do anything new. We train ourselves to think positively and constructively. Take any particular problem in your life, and face up to it. Don't deny that it exists, because it does, and has, through the sustenance your thought has given it. Now, you decide you are going to change your diet. You are going to put that problem on a starvation routine, by refusing to nourish it with thoughts which have fed it so far. You look through it; you realize it is but a shadow, because behind it lies the perfect pattern given you by your God. You make your mind dwell on that. When your thought slips back to the worry or fear patterns it has known, pull it back to positive thinking, and stick to it. This is the place where will power comes in, and it takes will power in the beginning.

Remind yourself that you are a child of God. Within you is locked the perfection of Divinity [initial aim], and only you have the key to open it [to choose the perfect divine offer over the past]. No one can do that for you. You can only turn the key by turning your thought, and you can only keep the door open by keeping your thought turned in the direction of positive, constructive thinking."

    The Wall

In Jerusalem, a female CNN journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who
had been going to the Wailing Wall to pray, twice a day, everyday, for a
long, long time. So she went to check it out. She went to the Wailing Wall
    and there he was!

She watched him pray and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave,
she approached him for an interview. "I'm Rebecca Smith from CNN. Sir, how
long have you been coming to the Wall and praying?"

    "For about 60 years."

"60 years! That's amazing! What do you pray for?"

"I pray for peace between the Christians, Jews and the Muslims. I pray
for all the hatred to stop and I pray for all our children to grow up in
    safety and friendship."

"How do you feel after doing this for 60 years?"

"Like I'm talking to a fuckin' wall."

I prayed for all kids of reasons. Usually to help others, or myself have the minimum in life, or anything related to what God wants, but still, I didn't see the difference between praying and not praying. The outcome was the same.

Maybe praying is like when a person cries, the person might feel better after. It's only for personal satisfaction, not for results.

I know many who say they pray alot, and many who say that they never pray, and I see no difference in the outcome. Often its the one who doesnt pray and doesnt obey God's laws, that gets most out of life !!!

ps... this proves God's not taking the time to really get to know us, he's just using demographic studies and polls. I frickin' HATE corvettes and Harleys.

    Legolas!
    Great story!

But seriously folks, three times I have prayed for somebody to send me some money and when I went out to the mailbox a check was there for me.

You have the same chances of getting what you want from praying as you do from sending me $50 dollars anytime you want results. The catch is you have to truely believe in me, if you do I garuntee you results, if not you may not get anything. I can know if you're being sincere or not, you can't fool me! So please, if there is something you need, just PM me and I'll tell you how to give me $50 and it will happen!
