    On a different note...

I believe that these men (GB) retain their positions based on nothing more than reputation alone. What I mean by that is, haven't they been removed from positions from actual corporate leadership? So what happens if they start making decisions that are deleterious to the financial health of the WT society?

What happens then? Could they actually be removed from their positions?

I certainly wouldnt want to be in their shoes.

I agree. The Governing Body members have A LOT to answer for, come Judgement Day.

But I wounder how they feel, do you think they feel secure and safe. Do they have body guards when they go out?

At the summer assemblies, they've got body guards around the stage area now........something that they never had years ago. Whoever is lurking here from Bethel (on this and other 'postate sites) probably give a brief summary to the Governing Body on any threads that they see as causing problems within the Organization. That way, they probably feel like they've got a better handle on what they're dealing with although they're powerless to control what's being said. Ironically, in a spiritual sense, I think they probably feel less secure now than what they did 20 years ago thanks to the Internet.........these guys must always be looking over their shoulders. They know full well that they've ruined tens of thousands of lives over the years with their insane rules and people do not automatically bow before them like they used to. So, ya, I think they're probably not feeling as secure as what they once were.

Hey, if they all died of food poisoning, wouldn't they get all the 8000+ members of the FDS together and allow them to "vote" in a new GB? Cause they would know who they all are wouldn't they?
So that they were actual representatives of the "remnant" and not just yes men for whoever is in charge of it?
    ......hahahah not likely.......

BTW, Who is the chairman of the GB these days?

Once inside the Bethel buildings past the receptionist, there isn't personal security. But any person who is not a Bethelite with the proper ID (or key) or escorted by a Bethelite, cannot access those areas. The pictures of the GB are posted here and other places but they are from non-JW or ex-JW sources. When I was a JW, I did not know the faces of the GB members until I started meeting a few. Not many have their faces publicized unless you take the time to look up some of their biographies in the WT publications.

I agree that the GB are true believers just like I was despite much cognitive dissonance over the years. But I finally woke up after 45 years. So it is never too late and you are never too old.

WAC, that is interesting that they should have that flaw in security. I wonder if that makes the other Bethelites feel safe?

    Hmmmmmmmmm
