I waited on Jehovah to send me a spouse. So I'm 42 and still single. Maybe I need to work in harmony with my prayers and join match.com.

Yeah, I asked him for a spouse too, and I got one. Be careful what you ask for - you might get it!

Of course, the end of my cult membership was the beginning of the end of my marriage.

I was married and it was a bad marriage. After we became JW's in 1972 we were a bit happier and tolerated each other for few years. But the last 20 years were just hellish in my opinion, he thought it was ok. Anywho I spoke to an Elder that I didn't want the man I was married to in the New System and he assured me if I was patient that we would both change become better people in the New System. And we would find happiness with each other finally. Well I got to thinking about it, if as JW we weren't happy now how was our God going to fix that. Can't make people love one another even among JW's. So then I thought you know that is pure baloney fed to us to keep us in line.

The Elder that said that was a real piece of work he hated women general, and sisters even more. He called us slugs that weighted the brothers down and were useless except to have childrenwith. Here he is still an Elder up on West Virginia first name Andrew G. He treated his wife like garbage. Why would I listen to such a man I thought, and realized I would not. Religion is a snare and a racket that is for sure.

Wait on Jehovah, no more stupid words have ever been spoken. You wait and wait and wait and nothing happens.

I never understood the meaning behind those words

The watchtower May 1, 2004 page 11 par 15 the first sentance says:

"Jehovah does not communicate directly with anyone today"

You could be waiting for a long time.
