Hey Dave, I'm in Northern Virginia, about 30 minutes from Dulles Airport (9/11 plane #3/Pentagon). 20 minutes west of Leesburg, 25 minutes east of Winchester. Ever heard of Mount Weather?

    L.L., thanks for your comments.

Midwich, yes I registered on this board a while back, but have only started really visiting here a few weeks ago.

    Welcome uncle Lenny,

What a great way to introduce yourself to this site.

I was thinking that you will be able to get people from all sorts a backgrounds involved. There is a big apostate following amongst the Hispanic community as far as I can tell.

I have been getting emails from non English speaking people to www.jwfacts.com I received a great book with lots of masonic photos i have never seen on english sites, shame i could not understand the spanish. I also have a brother from France translating some of my site into French. There are also a lot of Polish people visiting the site. So it seems there is quite a global movement against the WTS though the internet.

If you can get some support from the Spanish community you should be able to bolster numbers for a Brookln demonstration.

I don't know if public demonstrating is the way to go. It hasn't seemed to generate a mass exodus of JW's from the Borg as far as I can tell. Considering the mindset of the R&F JW, I would think that a more non-confrontational approach would work better. After all, weren't we taught to walk by the picketing apostates outside our assemblies with up-turned noses and blocked ears? I think informational discussions/seminars at bookstores, colleges, etc. on a local level which are advertised in the media, as well as a hot-line set up specifically to allow for anonymous inquiries, would at least provide an approach more amenable to the inquisitive JW. In addition, links to various informational websites can be posted on handouts/mailouts (excluding the WBTS website, naturally). Just my 2 cents.

    Welcome Uncle Lenny!

All of your ideas are good ones. My very first thought was; he needs to hook up with our Danny Haszard! I am an activist too; Watchtower and animal activists against cruel factory farming. I am disabled so physicaly there is not much I can do so I work through the computer. I have a financial benefactor that provides me all the Crisis of Conscience books I need. I make sure that eberyone who wants one, gets one.

I talk to JWs every chance I get. I invite them to my house via the official internet site, I talk to them when they have their little tables out in front of the stores (they don't do that as much anymore) I think that had the greatest impact. The last to come to the gate recieved a great bundle of information from Silent Lambs and my husband who never was a JW talked to them all about it! Men respect men much more than women, especially JW men (no offense). But that don't apply to you because you are OUT!!!!!

So glad to have you on our side, Love~Kate

So you finally shrugged off that new personality eh? Isn't it good to find the old personality still there with its values in tact.

    welcome to the board..

personally, i think documentaries do more damage to the wtbs than protests do.

Welcome! I like your idea, I've been thinking about the same sort of idea, I've PM a couple people about it and am still playing with the idea, basicly here's my idea:

The plan: Write a letter warning the general public about the destructive effects of the WTS and warning people about the dangers of joining cults. I am planning on taking the first major step towards this by setting up a PO Box for people that want to precipitate in letter a campaign as a return address. I was going to post this when it’s done, anyway the purpose would be to eventually start a non-profit type of origination, whose goal is to raise awareness of cults and help people who are looking to get out.

The letter would consist of information about the policies they have which they don’t advertise (i.e., shunning, believing only JW’s are saved), silentlambs, and basic scriptural rebuttal to some of their teachings (for those looking for a religious reason) along with website addresses like freeminds and like. The idea of having a non-profit org behind it is so that the public could make anonymous donations to the cause and current witnesses could help in the campaign without worry of the letters being traced back to them.

Anyway, I trying to work out all the details for this, what do you think?
