    Welcome Lenny -

Great Ideas. Now getting it pulled off is the trick. A handful of protesters do little good I fear - they just appear angry and not well supported. A huge gathering [the thousands you mention would be fabulous] Media could not ignore. I would be a willing participant in such a plan.

Sickoflies - good points too for the letter.

I have thought of printing up some basic information to 'scatter' in the territory. A few hundred well worded tracts and placed in the right places might have an impact on the local community. More important it might aid someone to escape.

About a hundred postcards sent over the past several months to witnesses and non-witnesses has done wonders for the mental condition of our local pioneers and elders. Screaming, fighting, back-biting. Studies that seemed progressive have just out and out stopped. Interested visitors have stopped going to the meetings. It just keeps getting better and better.

Our postcard campaign has just added two more congregations. We are hearing reports of recipients wanting to find the individuals mailing these and take them to court. My, my. They just don't understand the word persecute. They should be filled with joy that they even get the cards. We've got around 45 different card selections and each month we come up with a few more. We even have a select group of 12 that I like calling my "National 12" Holiday cards that remind the recipient that they are in a cult. July's message is "National Independence and Freedom from Cults Month. Search for your Freedom.

Guess which month the message "Cults are Spooky" is from. Being an activist is alot more fun than being a dub.

If you want to share your postcards/flyers/etc., I am willing to put them up in my activism database so they're accessible to all.

I don't know if I qualify as an "activist," but I have some ideas for grabbing major media attention with minimal effort.

Feel free to PM me if you would like to read them, and welcome from the lurker status!

    Respectfully,
    AuldSoul

Hi, Uncle Lenny and welcome to JWD.

I was a participant at the Silentlambs March in Brooklyn. I also did some of my own activism in connection with both Silentlambs and the UN issue during a couple of Pontiac Silverdome conventions. I have participated in national mailings (with an anonymous P.O. Box number provided as a return address) and have distributed particularly damning Body of Elder letter copies to as many local Witnesses as addresses I knew. I also helped translate a mailing from English into French at one time. I've written letters to the editor in response to the Dateline program, the UN hypocrisy, and coverage of various court cases with abuse victims, or as a counterpoint to JW-positive convention articles. But not lately... Lately all I do is search & destroy missions on Watchtowers and Awake!s in public places.

I would participate in a mass protest at Brooklyn. I would also participate in the T-shirt wearing to local KHs. The back of my T-shirt would read "Sister Always-Prepared for 11 years. Happily out since 2001".
