Elsewhere posted this on another thread so I'm just going to copy it here

how much of an influence are JWs having over 7 billion people?

    Lets see, according to http://www.watchtower.org/statistics/worldwide_report.htm

Total number of hours preaching: 1,278,201,985

Total number of people Baptized: 247,631

This means that it took 5161.7 hours of preaching activity to bring in a new Jehovahs Witness.

If 6,613,829 (Peak Publishers) generated a total of 1,278,201,985 hours of preaching, this means that each JW spent 193.1 hours preaching during the course of one year. This in turn means that the 5161.7 hours needed to convert each person was equivalent to 26.7 years worth of preaching work.

At that rate I think people are leaving a lot faster than they are going in. And many are finding there way here. And we didn't have to go knocking on their doors to look for them either

So welcome to the new ones.

LadyLee....I remember a fellow elder telling me once that only 5% of bible studies progress to baptism. Many I knew had 0 bible studies.

If you walk into about any Kingdom Hall that you have been away from for a few years and you return......how many new faces to you see? If you come to JWD after being gone for a day or two.....how many new posters do you see?

And that doesn't factor in those born into the cult...which I believe is the majority of "new ones".

u/d(of the they are an insignificant dangerous cult...that are legends in their own minds class)

Yep, the only new faces I ever see at the old KH is that of people moving from nearby congregations.

Also, out of those 247,631 that are newly baptized, I would think that a majority of them were 'raised' in the 'truth' How many of those are actually brought in

from the preaching work? When you figure that into the equation it really starts to look hopeless.

When I went to the KH a few weeks ago for a funeral the only ones I saw were some who had moved here or children, grandchildren of those I knew way back in the 70s.

Interesting stats Lady Lee. I never brought anyone into the org, but then I left when I was 26.5 years old. Good job I left when I did otherwise I could have been on the cusp of converting someone!

MEMORIAL PARTAKERS WORLDWIDE: 8,524(taken from the watchtower link)

Not trying to sidetrack this thread, but I've been in the borg since I was born in the 70's and I swear the above number has changed very little since then.

Are the anointed all in excess of 100 years of age now?

Witness hours to get someone out of the Witness

Witness calling elders to report they know something incriminating about a Witness ... about 3 hours

Having to repeat that in a backroom to other elders ... about 2 hours Elders meeting to discuss what to do ... about 3 hours Calling on person .... 2 hours, depending on how often they find person at home. Judicial committee preparation .... about 2 hours Actual committee meeting .... about 4 hours Decision Making time .... 3 hours Meeting to discuss conclusion ... about 2 hours Meeting to discuss conclusion with disfellowshipped person .... 1 hours (sometimes less) Announcement at meeting .... 1 Minute Monthly or even years of preaching to you and studying, to have you become a Witness. Less then 24 hours and your out! If 100,000 people were disfellowshiped last year in the USA, then they spent 2,400,000 working to get you out last year.

Someone has posted a chart on JWD that shows a horizontal line when it comes to the anointed numbers.
