the dad may be upset and justifiably concerned about richie having people he's met on the internet offering him places to stay and offering him money and calling his phone.. it may not be a jw issue at all to the dad. i'd be concerned if people off the internet were calling my 17 yr old son and offering him stuff.

I really liked Scully's idea...But only because it made me laugh..

I could call and say that I'm the Nurse from Planned Parenthood or the STD Clinic, but I think that would get him in way more trouble than he's already in.

    Sorry... lisa

Richie’s Dad probably does not understand “all this crap” that is going on, since he is not a JW. He, more than likely, is just protecting his son from perceived harm. That is the sign of a good dad.

My hat is off to Richie’s dad for looking out for his son and screening calls from anyone – even from here.

Evidently Richie has a supportive dad, legal representation, a supportive group here, and a mom that cares deeply for him. Whenever he has a chance, Richie can read your posts for support here. If he has your telephone number, then he can initiate the call if he feels the need.

Not telling anyone what to do, just a suggestion.

Perhaps callers could say they know Richie from myspace.com - the website for which he was Privately Reproved ™ for hanging out at?

In at least some cases, that would actually be true :)

GentlyFeral thanking God she never put her kids through this crap

    I think candidlynuts called it:

That's how I'D react if my son suddenly started getting 9,000 phone calls from around the world.

Guys, guys, guys...I'd NEVER call him unless he were in mortal danger. I'd hate to break his cover.

I agree with Candidly & Jgnat. What parent wouldn't be concerned about phone calls and messages from complete strangers (to them) offering free places to stay and money? It will only make things worse at this point. We can all help him better after we find out what happens,

If his plan was to deny anything that has been blown by now if this site is being watched,

We all know how capable Richie is. He will make the best choices for himself at the right time. Im confident of that.

He has many of your numbers to call you when he can. He said he can post on Tuesday.

This is a classic act that shows just how evil these cult people can be. I have said this before and I will say it again, they preach one language and live another.

I think that if someone wants to call him they should just tell the dad that they're from JWD, I'll bet the dad will tell him and Richie will talk to you.

Friends one of these day's I am going to tell you all about what I went through with my JW family. You all will shit when you read. It will be long.

"If this isn't a good time, I'll call back again."

Dad says, 'It would be better if you don't."

If only Richie's Dad would say that to the elders as well!
