Well, for air conditioning you need expensive machinery and metals and insulation - AND power. And without a ventilation system walls would make things a bit hot and stinky, eh? -

What is attracting these people to the JW crackpot message? It reminds me of my own relatives, in a way. They are NEW, to a New country and pick up a crackpot religious cult within a few years. Then they proceed to beat their own relatives back home with the same crackpot message. The thing is, the relatives back home already know that the Jehovah's Witnesses are total idiots and so are able to refuse their nonsense.
I believe, that certain people believe, that picking up 'Americanisms' is progressive and that they are then superior to their still Catholic/Protestant, Hindu blah, blah whatever religion the rest of their family/friends are.
They want to say' 'Look at me!!!! I've found a religion that makes me better than YOU!!!! Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah!!!!!' I'm going to live forever! You're all going to be bird food if you don't do the same as me!'

The sisters at the front though in the big hats aren't being very loving though, they're blocking the views of those seated behind. Imaging having to sit there all day long in the heat with just the back of someones big hat to look at.
