Congrats. I listened to the first JC and thought the main elder was a total jerk. I especially liked the bit where he basically told you he was gonna DF you, then said he needed to pray, and you asked WHY since you already made up your mind. He sounded SO STUPID as he backtracked. Now I am waiting for you to post part 3.
Also, what's this about a lawyer -- please tell us more about that. He was allowed to be with you? or what?
Once again, congratulations on beating the system for now, although ultimately they will get rid of you for sure.
Kinda reminds me of the "Richie gets his priviledges back" thread. That was great - had me PMPL.
oh man your ace! lol well done.
What....45 minutes to download?
I'll wait.... maybe someone will convert it to Realplayer or something!
it didn't take me 45 minutes...maybe eight at the most...it is worth it..unbelievable...one thing i must say thought your mom is a keeper....all the best sol...
It took ages to download but worth it ! It went a bit strange after 20 mins, you sounded as if you were chewing your tongue
they brought in a scholar who lived in Iraq and had a ton of info on 607 and stuff
Bullshit........I don't believe for a second that this guy was actually a genuine scholar because no reputable scholar would waste their time attending a Judicial Committee involving Jehovah's Witnesses, trying to support the erroneous year of 607 BCE. It just ain't gonna happen. Did you get his name? I'd be very interested to know where he got his doctorate from and in what field? I say this is probably "theocratic warfare" and the guy is probably really from Bethel.
It is appropriate for them to provide you with supporting info about their teachings (607); however, that is not germaine to the judicial committee. Helping you spiritually and/or helping you to understand their teachings is not appropriately done in a judicial committee. That is something that is done in a shepherding call or whatever. The purpose of a judicial committee is to investigate and discipline wrongdoing, not to debate doctrines. The only issue they should have been discussing is your alleged apostacy--if you were guilty of it and if you were repentant.
Debating teachings in a judicial committee sets a dangerous precedent. Are they going to call a JC every time someone asks a question or says they are spiritually discouraged? Can you imagine a Catholic priest calling an Excommunication Hearing each time a parishioner asked a Biblical question? Of course not! Why is "Babylon the Great" more merciful, encouraging, understanding, and open than "Jehovah's One and Only True Religion"? Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
