    Why not?

That is who Jesus is in heaven.

According to the WT thinking that they are one in the same, I would say that you are correct ...that you could use the name Michael!

I would love that question to be answered by a dud!

I raised this issue in 1990 when I was studying to be baptized. The brother (then an MS soon after an Elder) finally agreed with me that technically I was correct that the person who was Jesus on earth is considered to be and called Michael in Heaven (by JWs). He was stumped for a week or so and then he showed me the scripture which goes along the lines....

...in the name of Jesus, shall every knee bend, both in Heaven and on Earth......

Thus he said that if privately, if I wished to use Michael, it would be ok, but for public prayers and so forth, that it would be both confusing to some and also, in line with that scripture, we should use the name "Jesus."

    Reasoning pg. 218

Reasonably, then, the archangel Michael is Jesus Christ.

So the evidence indicates that the Son of God was known as Michael before he came to earth and is known also by that name since his return to heaven where he resides as the glorified spirit Son of God.

Lets be reasonable here, if Jesus aka michael the archangel, walk into a room and was introduced as Jesus everyone would bend there knees.

If Jesus walks into the same room and is introduced as Michael the archangel everyone just stands there.

    what pile of b.s.

Also when he's on earth he only gets called Jesus in heaven it's Michael. Everywhere else in the bible when

names were changed they didn't flip flop back and forth to the new and old names did they?

I don't think there is any real evidence that Michael is another name for Christ where do they base their claim and how do we know that Michael is simply not a top ranking angel?

I figured out what to do.

It's simple just use both names at the end of your prayer.

Now which one do you say first?

The name matters little if they both refer to the same entity in your mind, right? Whichever one feels best to you.

Somehow, to me, even though I was taught Jesus and Michael were the same person, they didn't really seem like the same person. I mean, remember those four horsemen pieces of art they had where Michael had his crown on and had the sword and he felt very war-like? Somehow, to me, this didn't seem like quite the same person as Jesus on earth was, mostly kind-natured, turn the other cheek, all that sort of thing.

So, perhaps, you might choose the name based upon what purpose your prayer actually has. For example, if you're praying for strength through a challenging time, you might approach the Michael aspect. If you're giving thanks for peace and love, perhaps Jesus.
