Also, there is no difference between the God I worship and the God they worship. It's the same God.

As an ex-Jehovah's Witness who became a Christian, I certainly do not worship the same God the JW's worship.

It wasn't fair and you certainly shouldn't feel obliged to go with him to the hall again.

I'll add to what I said, La Catholica, you don't have to go to the kingdom hall either if you don't want to and he shouldn't force you to go either. I grew up in a family where my father was not a witness. He rarely if ever went with us and that was his choice. As his children, though he did insist that we go with him to various churches. My witness mother stayed home.

As for the oath part, perhaps he was referring to this JW baptismal question:

    34. Would it be proper for true Christians to share in worship with other religious groups?

I heard another voice out of heaven say: "Get out of her [Babylon the Great], my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues. For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind.".Rev. 18:4, 5.

    Additional references: Matt. 7:13,14, 21-23; 1 Cor. 10:20; 2 Cor. 6:14-18.
