My step-dad was an elder and assumed that whenever kids got together that fornication would happen. We always got the 3rd degree whenever we made plans. By the time our parents got done with us we felt like we had already sinned.
My parents went through my mail and listened on phone conversations. I never kept a diary because I knew my mom would go through it. They did this to my brother too.
At one time my step-dad told us we were the reason he wasn't an elder.
To this day my parents will sware they never did these things.
I always wished I could talk to my parents about how I was feeling, but couldn't trust them. I knew they always looked for sins in everything we did. So how can we talk with our parents about the important issues if they have either accused us of them or are continually checking to see if we have?

Oh ya, when I was 28 and had my first daughter, I stayed with my parents during the district assembly. They gave me a curfew!!!!! (my brothers meanwhile, still living at home were out getting pissed every night of the assembly)
