All of this makes me so mad at these parents and so sad for all you guys.

The worst I guess I had was my mum periodically going through everything in my room. I'd come home and find it trashed. Everything ripped out of the cupboards and draws and just left there for me to clean up. Whenever it happened it made me feel so violated I would be physically ill.

What did they think you guys were doing? If they had half a brain they would have done it so covertly you would have never known. Though I can relate just a little, I know my husband occasionally tries to get where my 'apostate' stuff is. Now I booby trap things if I'm not around. I never say anything but I know when he's been there. Insane I know. Never in a million years would have happened before jwism came into our life.

My ex did all of the things your fathers did (probably still at it) to our kids and she wasn't an elder. We used to get into arguments over the insane controlling methods she subjected the children to. It always freaked me out when she would drag out a stack of bound volumes proving she was 'right' because it all came from the "Faithful Slave."

Wow that is horrible. I honestly believe my family never went thru any of my things. I think they were too busy with their own lives. They were some of the most social humans I know. I had free rein. But the guys in my family could not be bothered to hold a position. It was the chicks that pioneered and served were the need was great. As for the boys, I think they went because the women made them. I think if you had dad's that wanted a position or to keep a position, they were a little over the top.

My step-dad was an elder and assumed that whenever kids got together that fornication would happen. We always got the 3rd degree whenever we made plans. By the time our parents got done with us we felt like we had already sinned.

My parents went through my mail and listened on phone conversations. I never kept a diary because I knew my mom would go through it. They did this to my brother too.

At one time my step-dad told us we were the reason he wasn't an elder.

To this day my parents will sware they never did these things.

I always wished I could talk to my parents about how I was feeling, but couldn't trust them. I knew they always looked for sins in everything we did. So how can we talk with our parents about the important issues if they have either accused us of them or are continually checking to see if we have?

Oh ya, when I was 28 and had my first daughter, I stayed with my parents during the district assembly. They gave me a curfew!!!!! (my brothers meanwhile, still living at home were out getting pissed every night of the assembly)

I think it is the girl thing. Because I have a girl friend who has two brothers and it was the same way with them. She had to abide by family rules when she was with her family, but her brothers would be off picking up ladies of the night (really one did and he got arrested) and it was not as horrible as when she had the gual to meet up with friends and one of those friends was a GUY.

come on we all know what boys and girls equals SEX. I am surprised we can all hold down jobs because we work w/ the opposite sex. I am sure our jobs are just fronts for orgy houses.

    LOL I got you beat.

One of the sisters, a women whose hubby is "out-of-town" (Dub speak for a run-away) has two daughters in the local HS. She quit her job to be the Lunch Lady to keep watch over them.

Guess they were going to have group-sex and take heroin in those hours they spent out of her sight. Now they are under watch 24/7.
