Who on this forum is posting and NOT engaging in charitable work? Please, divulge who it is that you are using as a basis to characterize all of us.

Again, my suspicion is that you have no basis and you are talking from ignorance. Your last post, while reaffirming your view, made no attempt at a basis for your view. The basis is missing from the first, second, and third post you've made to this thread. If you are willing to concede that your perception is baseless beyond your own conjecture, I am willing to agree with you—about the baselessness of your perception.

However, for me to credit anything you have to say further on the subject you would need to show WHY I should consider your encouragement as anything but inane, ignorant, HARMFUL chatter from someone who knows nothing about what living as a JW does to a person's outlook on life or their capacity to function in society.

Since "mickey-taking" is apparently a colloquialism, could you please explain the phrase in more universally known English terms so that I can be sure I understand what you mean. I am not sure whether I agree or not. For what it is worth, I thought you were baiting the forum because you didn't know we were ex-JWs. If that is what "mickey-taking" means, then I guessed you were faking confusion on those points to get a discussion going. However, the reality is that many come here to be angry at us, or to prove we are wrong, or certain that JWs have some vaild teachings, or sure of this or that—and they find out that they are wrong.

Before you criticize our presence, I encourage you to read the threads posted by LeftBehind. Once you're done, come back to this thread and tell me how much of my time that lady's relationship with her brother is worth. Explain to me that I shouldn't spend time posting here in hopes that something I write will reach A person, and start snapping them out of their stupor.

But most importantly, explain to the foster children I work with how unconcerned I am about anytghing outseide of whining about Jehovah's Witnesses. Then tell the church I attend how my work with them is taking a back seat to my involvement on JWD. Then take a long look at yourself, and ask whether you are being overly critical of a good thing—a thing that has helped me dramatically shorten how long it will take for me to become a productive member of society instead of continuing to be a victim of WTS dogma.

Unless you have basis for your views that you have not stated, your views are only an expression of prejudice. Nothing more. Do you know how much ANY poster does or does not do outside of posting on JWD? You are correct, there are thousands of posts daily. And THOUSANDS of posters daily, too. It is rare for a person to get more than 10 posts in a day. Some go through periods of heavy posting, when things are particularly pressing JW-wise, but by far the majority of posts are from single-post posters. How much time do they spend on the posts? You don't know. What else do they spend their time on? You don't know. Your post tells me about you, it doesn't tell me about JWD posters. You don't know anything about JWD posters.

Guess you missed out on one of us volunteer mom's. By the way, I was never a jw. Warning others of a deadly cult is 'doing something'. Isn't that what jw's like to brag about? Warning others of the doom that will befall them if they don't become a jw?

Just a question for ArtfulDodger : What exactly do you mean the members of the board should be doing? Of course, the goal is to shut down the Watchtower. I guess most here would agree on that. One way to do that effectively, would be to all get together and raise money for a B-52, and bomb that building into the ground. On the other hand, then they`d probably get a kick out of the "persecution", and raise another building somewhere else (as I assume the money is in a bank). So, the only wayto effectively fight the WTS, is to expose them, flood the internet with information about their history, their hidden agendas and activities, and also proper understanding of what the Bible really (really) teaches. In addition to that, there are many people who are engaged in legal activities and suits against the WTS, and many have written books. So I`m wondering: What else is there? I mean, what else can be done? What are ex-JWs doing wrong? Did we miss something?

Welcome, Dodger. What an entrance! How do you possibly think that you can know what people do and don't do during their off time here? Forums like this are vital to help people through the shock and disbelief of finding out that JW's don't have the truth. When they've dealt with that, many people can and do start charities of their own (non-jw related in any way) and others do massive amounts of 'positive things'. But I consider posting here another way of giving back for the help that was given me.
