Thank you. epiphany. Epithany was giving me weird mind pictures.

Rather than inbred family members, my mind picture of the Kingdom Hall is of a fishbowl. All those old fishies staring at the new fishie wondering if he is good associaton or not.

Here in Canada one doesn't have a choice re which kh you attend.
You attend your assigned 'district' kh
Isn't it the same in other countries??

The 90 year old sweet little old lady who had given me return visits for 10 years was assigned to another district because there were too many older witness's in her district and.....

I got new people to visit me who were sucessful in getting me to commit to a bible study
which I've done for two years(I cancelled today's study)

One of the things I loved about my bible studies were my 'epiphanys'
    I miss those 'epiphanys'
    Some of them 'were' real
    Some(it now seems)....were not
    Truth MIXED with Error

Why did you cancel today's study? How did you feel when you where just traded off to another person to study with?

    and welcome.

Here in Canada my husband is working on his fourth congregation. Two were due to physical moves, the last was his choice. He moved to the next congregation over, we're right on the border. It's not like the elders made it easy on him. He's been eyed cautiously for two years. Also, congregation members won't give him rides because he's "too far away".

What I can't get over is the assignments to book studies. In my church, you go on the night and to the group you are most comfortable with. Hubby tried to switch that, too, but he was told he had to be the team player. I mean, can you imagine the chaos if everyone was allowed to make up their own mind where to go?

I cancelled today's study instead of just being 'unavailable..

.twas the courteous thing to do.

I now have an aversion to these lovely people

and they are lovely...really...but...I tried to get them to help me to look under the rug

but they don't see the LUMP(as in elephant under the rug ....aka sweeping things under the rug)

I have this itty bitty suspicion also....how could ......oh phoooey.......anyway....to make a long

    story shorter...

.I want to crawl under that rug and tell the 'elephant' to MOVE OVER.!!!

I havn't been answering my phone so Thursday they left a note on my door asking me if I wanted them to come Friday for my bible study

Last week I came home and found a container of rasberries that they had left when I was hiding from them...

It took a long time to pick all those rasberries.

    I feel bad and sad....sometimes I wish I didn't know what I know.

Re the sweet little old lady(she really is)

I feel worse for 'her'being reassigned...she had to leave friends etc...but they were trying to balance the populations in the different congregations so there would be enuf younger people to take care of the older ones...ie. driving them to meetings etc.

My apologies...I think I'm off topic

Yup I sure do miss my 'bible study' epiphanys....

I wonder..... if I rake my yard ....will I...........????

How about this, berean? Why not try and separate the nice people from the religious aspect? Offer to be their friend, but the religious discussions are over. Call up the lovely grandma lady and invite her over to tea, but please leave the magazines at home. Offer to drive her home and back.

If they were merely there to mark the time, see how fast they disappear over the horizon.

If any of it is real, you will find out soon enough.

What a wonderul ideal. I know the older sisters and brothers are left out more often than not. I'm sure she could use a real friend.

As for the studies...you owe them nothing. You were looking when you found them, and they don't have what you need, just tell them. Don't fall for the guilt trip....especially if you are only being used to mark hours.

Thanx guys....but NOW I feel guilty about hijacking this thread....

It seems like a lot of people have had bad experiences at the Kingdom Halls...

    That's NOT my experience..

Sure would be easier if it was???!!

I find the Kingdom Halls to be rather monotonous in their presentation and bland in their decor. Chit chat is superficial at best. I'm wondering berean, did you find anything really GOOD at the Kingdom Halls?
