Welcome brother, the WTS does indeed deceive its members about the nature of the world to make them dependant on the mother org the world at the end of the day is what you make of it there are in it saintly as well as beastly people.

Hello White Waves, if you saw my avatar in a JW publication, they stole it first! because I found it on the internet somewhere, lol......PS, can anyone direct me how to paste pics on here, recently there was a post on "add your own caption" for an Awake mag,(very funny!) I would love to contribute to fun topics like that, but am not sure how to post a pic. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

    Welcome brother

I chose this because I take the title of "brother" seriously, unlike most in the organization a brother is someone who you can really turn to in times of need and will honestly help.

I can relate to that completely. Before being baptized I always thought 'what a privilege to be called a brother', but then soon after they've changed tactic and anyone even commenting at meeting once in awhile (without being baptized) was being called brother, which was practice mostly applied by other churches. I thought to myself 'what a cheapening of the title'
until I started to realize that cults would use anything to entice people into their membership.
So what is now really happening is that WTBS is losing its bests, brightest and most spiritual people and are left with mostly two-faced image-maintainers who think that 'salvation' is something earned by regularly giving half thought through comment at watchtower study. But that is what wtbs deserves for not appreciating what they had

I think you will find several people with backgrounds like your own on this board. Just remember to take the good and leave the bad. Remember that, and you will enjoy!
