I receive a small stipend from the WTBTS to post regularly, giving a pro-JW voice and countering negative info about the Society.

    Hah hah!!!! Just kidding.

Well my average posts is still less than one a day so I don't post a lot, (maybe it just seems that way), but I browse more than I put in comments. I usually post and run, in between my many responsibilities and work.

I am also a night owl and usually post at night, plus sometimes I read and post while watching TV, during the commercials.

I make the time to come to JWD. This is MY time....I work part-time, away from home, and full time in the home, so I try to spend an hour each day, if I can, to come here. It's therapy, and it's fun. I like to see how others are getting along, (or not, whichever the case may be ).

I work full time, but sometimes it's so slow here at work that I end up spending the entire day on this board. I think I need to look for a new job.

Like many, I post from work. Because of the nature of what I do, 2/3 of the year I really only spend maybe 2-3 hours of 8 actually doing work. The other 1/3 of the year, I'm slammed.

I would like to add that even though I am here so much BECAUSE of my illness, it is still a priveldge and joy to do so. I am falling in love with everyone here, and look forward each day to reading how you all are, and your thoughts on everything.

Apostate Kate, what disorder is it if you don't mind me asking? I am curious because my step-dad was just diagnosed with a blood disorder and I can't remember the name but he has too much iron in his blood and it messes up your kidneys and I think liver too. He is also diabetic and just had an ultrasound in which they found he has only one kidney.

That would be the disease. It is called Hereditary hemochromatosis. There are different mutations of it, I got the worse combination called C282Y homozygous, which means I have a double mutation of that HH gene. The terrible truth is that this disease need not take your life or damage your organs.

I went through a medical nightmare and nearly died several times befopre it was diagnosed. By that time in 1994 my liver was fried. I had to push it back under my rib cage in order to sit up or drive because it was so swollen. The tests showed is badly damaged with chirrosis and blockages. It is called the celtic curese because the gene has been traced through Scotland, Dublin, to the nothern Viking tribes.

The treatment is regular bleedings for the rest of your life. Staying well has been a challenge. I eat a mostly organic raw vegan diet with non soy protein and natural suppliments. Hard to stay on but I have to work harder to be active. I have secondary problems from the HH, lupus, thyroid disease, fibromyalgia.

Here is the link;American Hemochromatosis Society

You can tell your step-dad about it and he can sign up to join a email list that is a lot of help.

Tell him I said hi~Love Kate (unless he is a dub then you can't)

I've been in grad school for the last 2 1/2 years, and most classes meet once per month with the rest of the work online. Plus writing research papers, etc. So I'm sitting here at my desk, and when I get frustrating with the studying, I post. (That has been happening more often.) But I graduate Thursday, so I won't be here as often...

I am on most nights. It's my bfs pc, and he sometimes needs to use it, but I get plenty of access, especially when I am on a day off and he's at work.

two or three posts per day from work. Before it went to secure mode I could do it from airports while waiting for planes. 5 or 6 posts per day at night. It soon mounts up when you do that for two or three years. I have also missed meetings on occasions and use that time to catch up on posts and certain threads. I aslo count my time in here witnessing to all you damn poztates
