"Ugly people" have a right to "beautiful people".

I don`t think anyone has a right to anything, when it comes to things like this. Sex is not a right at all. That sex is a "right" has been used as an argument for legalizing prostitution (in the case of retarded/disabled people, etc, that they need to get some too). While I don`t have anything against prostitution (if someone chooses to sell their body for money, that`s their right), I don`t agree that people have a right to have sex with other people. If someone`s willing to have sex with an ugly, retarded, disabled guy (or whatever), great. If not, tough luck. He`s always got mrs.Right Hand (oh no, that`s a sin, I forgot...).

My point was a juxtaposition to blondie's position which seemed to preclude ugly people going with beautiful people, in which case she would be saying that ugly people have no right to beautiful people which given your response you would also object to.

What I find in reality though is all else being equal beautiful women go for good looking men, I'm currently sharing a house with two such women. They won't compromise on looks and have been single for the last 2 to 4 years. I mean one of them wouldn't even contemplate going to a simple lunch with me where we'd be seen by her 20yo something friends just because in her superficial mind I'm not top looking (and I;m not even considered ugly by the people that know me).

Strictly speaking there is nothing to prevent anyone from getting married and just the same there are no biblical rules regarding age difference between marriage partners, it's just that it shows the elderly GB members are utilising their social rank within the dubs to catch young women.

Wow, I better check what I said...I'm sorry if anyone thought I even implied that ugly people and beautiful people would not seek each other out and had no right to do so.

I merely observed that JW women are willing to marry men with power regardless of their looks. The power is what attracts.

Of course, this is not meant to be a statement that fits everyone, just my observation of 50 years in the WTS.

Remember the Youth book, everytime a young sister was having issues, she was to go to an older sister that could be a trusted confidant. Now why isn't that same 'older sister' very desirable as a marriage partner?!?!?

And nice point, imagine 30 years ago, a 20year old married a 50 year old to climb the spiritual ladder. She was sure the end was "any day now" yah right, and we all saw it happen. Now she's 50, her motor's running and she's married to some 80 year old who believes he is the king of his castle (OK mobile home) and changing his depends.
