Really Gill. why don't they just come out and say that the publishing corporation is in control ? That is the main point anyway . The whole FDS dogma is about being appointed over the domestics but they shoot themselves in the foot constantly when they claim the governments are the superior authorities . Just what the hell are these people saying ? I don't think they are ever really clear on these issues and it's deliberate .

I'm glad to have missed it. It doesn't surprise me that there was nothing new, when is there anything reaaly new? Even so - called "new light" is just a slightly different spin on one of the core beliefs, designed to postpone Armageddon for a few more years to keep the r&f striving on behalf of the business.

I went to the meeting to hear the Special Talk (TM)
Speaker was lively, but his illustration (which was borrowed from the "Bible Teach" book, the one where a teacher has to allow a student rebel to demonstrate whether he knows better), did not go down well with me.
I mean, how could you compare a teacher with a rebellious student, who allows him to demonstrate whether he knows more than the teacher, to Jehovah allowing Satan to have FULL control, resultin in billions of deaths for the human race?
Speaker kept on and on emphasizing that Jehovah is in control, he is the landlord and can kick Satan out at any time.
This is a poor illustration. What landlord in this country would be allowed to kill all his tenants for the fun of it?
What boggles my mind, that if Jehovah is in complete control, it contradicts his quality of love.
How can you love the whole world so much and watch it disintegrate?
The speaker commented that if Jehovah intervened, then he would be helping Satan's cause, which would mean man could rule himself. A good point, but at what point do you stop with the Prime Directive policy of non-interference? What point do you say enough blood has been spilt?
The way I see it is this: All it takes for evil to prevail in the world is for good men to do nothing.
The devil has complete control over this planet, because God has gone into self-imposed exile.

It was like sitting down for lunch and having the same old ham and cheese sandwich that I have had since I was 3 yrs old. Nothing new or special about it.
