freetosse,
Thanks for your post. You are right that not only christians display good morals. I made that clear in many posts. Most of the bad done to me in my life has been by so-called Christians.
I opologize if I gave that impression. I only used Galatians for jw from the Christian perspective because she claims to be one but is not following the bible advice found there.
But, never did I want to imply that only Christians have these good qualities. Many who are not, and do not profess holy spirit also have them. You are right.

Thanks so much AuldSoul, LittleRockGuy, SteveNYC, and Luna2........this was sweet of you all. I really do appreciate it.
Most of the bad done to me in my life has been by so-called Christians.
LovelyLil,
Doesn't this always seem to be the case?
Those that don't go around bragging about whatever religion that they might practice.....in my experience are the ones who have been the most loving and truly caring.
Those that crow about "having the identifying mark of love" and like to boast that they show the love that Jesus did in "preaching".....are the same ones who are too self-absorbed and/or far too busy going to meetings and racking up "hours in service......" to BE "Christian".

sunspot,
good point. I found a lot of nice people in the WT org. But I felt the overall spirit was very judgemental of others. JWs are not the only ones who do good. And many do good and don't go around announcing that because they are JWs they do good.
Any who do claim to be christian are supposed to be followers of Christ. Jesus had such a loving, kind spirit about him that even non-believers liked him. I only make this point because many christians are not following their own leader.
Ghandi once said that if more people had the spirit of Jesus Christ, we could eliminate most of the evil that we see in the world today. Even if you look at Jesus as just a historical person, he was a great example of a loving, giving spirit who put others needs ahead of himself.
But so was Ghandi, and he was not a Christian. I think there are good people and bad in every religion and every nationality in this world. And all the major religions have crazy zealots. I felt bad when after 9/11, many Muslims got a bad wrap. The ones I know are some of the most loving people you could ever wish to know.
We should all remember we are ALL part of the human race, and that should unite us enough to respect everyone. No matter what belief system they hold to.

jw,
Everytime you make a post a ip address comes attached to your post. You can be located by this ip address and it's not very hard to do. Would you like someone to find out who you are and then contact your elders and report your coming here ?
Go for it!
If your answer in no then I strongly suggest that you make a serious attitude adjustment and start acting like a real human being, imperfect like all of us in the world.
Take your own advice and advice all the voices you hear too.
Your post seem to me as if your someone who is without error. Can you walk on water ? I hardly doubt it.Actually Ya can walk on water these days with Hovercraft shoes!
My bible say's not to judge anyone for anything because if you do you also will be judged in that same judgement. You are not only breaking the laws of scripture but your also breaking laws of your society. I have found that the JW's go against every grain of law in scripture but yet you act as if your some kind of supreme being, someone better than everyone else.
Lets see I am now judgeing people when I notice wrong doings, Not very logical now is that.
You need a grip on reality man very badly. And hey if you want to leavce so damn bad just GO, run fast and as others said don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.

As a 30-year seasoned and war-torn veteran of the WTS, my intentions are primarily NOW, to open the blind eyes of any JW that crosses my path (here on JWD or on other forums). If there is ONE point that can make them think about who and what they have devoted and dedicated their lives to....it's a seed well planted.
Finally an intelligent response!
With the JWs like this---spreading hate, arrogance, condemnation of ALL "other religions", as well as always feeling smugly superior to EVERYONE ELSE on the earth (other than any fellow JW---right OR wrong).....I think that realistically---your "question" should be better directed at YOU....
Why , What do I have to do with this site?
***You are kind of hypocritical to start a negative thread topic to rail against our negativity, I think. You have also made it more likely that the threads you aspire to start will be met by people whose attitudes toward you are heavily influenced by your asinine remarks on this thread. In other words, you set yourself up to be convinced of the prejudice you started with.
Actually it just further confirms that some of the people here are just up to no good.
If a JW can't engage someone in a reasonable conversation or good debate, they shoot for the arrogant WTS-taught attititude right off the bat. They LOOK for the zingers to toss out while exhibiting their superior attitude to all those who are not JWs. We ALL recognize this and we all see it for just what it is. It's a JW thang.
Bull Crap, no one here wants to debate the real issues in an intelligent way.

What is a Christian, please define? I believe the book you call the bible, gives that definition. Well here's one of the first steps to becomming a Christian...
(John 6:52-59) 52
Therefore the Jews began contending with one another, saying: "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" 53 Accordingly Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to YOU, Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. 54 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. 57 Just as the living Father sent me forth and I live because of the Father, he also that feeds on me, even that one will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. It is not as when YOUR forefathers ate and yet died. He that feeds on this bread will live forever." 59 These things he said as he was teaching in public assembly at Ca·per´na·um. JW, did you notice who Jesus was speaking to, the Jew's? And did you notice, Jesus said " Unless YOU eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, YOU have no life in yourselves. their is no mention of, differant classes of people.
By passing the emblems and not partaking, are we not in fact denigning Christ, and the covenant arrangement, and where does that leave us? Jesus said: "He that feeds on this bread will live forever"... so how are we to "live forever" if we don't do as Jesus commanded, to eat his flesh and drink his blood ??? I believe this scripture shows what we are, when we denign Chist by rejecting those emblems.(1 John 2:22-23) 22
Jhn 6:22 The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but [that] his disciples were gone away alone; Jhn 6:23 (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:) Who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son. 23 Everyone that denies the Son does not have the Father either. . ." What are YOU? Kind Regards Acadian ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all this has nothing to do with the definition of a christian!
-------Jhn 6:24 When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. Jhn 6:25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? Jhn 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Jhn 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. Jhn 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jhn 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. Jhn 6:30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? Jhn 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Jhn 6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. Jhn 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Jhn 6:34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. Jhn 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. Jhn 6:36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. Jhn 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. Jhn 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. Jhn 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. Jhn 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. Jhn 6:41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. Jhn 6:42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? Jhn 6:43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. Jhn 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. Jhn 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. Jhn 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. Jhn 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. Jhn 6:48 I am that bread of life. Jhn 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. Jhn 6:50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. Jhn 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Jhn 6:52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat? Jhn 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Jhn 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. Jhn 6:55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. Jhn 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. Jhn 6:57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. Jhn 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. Jhn 6:59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. The bread and drink that is being referred to is representing biblical knowledge that one must seek!

Hallo JW,
I think you have a great sense of humour!
I am not Christian, but some posters are, like lovlylil and others. I recommend you reply to her post and surly you can enjoy an intelligent exchange of issues. Please ignore the ones you find illogical.
All the best,
