A woman I know was telling me recently that because she is pretty and has a nice body most men at work try to flirt and cajole her with the ultimate aim of having sex with her, but because she is a married woman she resists their advances. She stresses how loyal she is to her husband.

So is she commenable or should she be liberal and have sex with other men to be hedonistic and enjoy life? Would the men unsuccessfully chasing her think she is commendable or just resent her?

Maybe she's just imagining everything... kind of a legend in her own mind... or maybe she's the one who's the flirt and none of the guys are taking the bait.

Modern workplace environments are not usually favorable with respect to this kind of behaviour due to the risk of sexual harassment suits.

Personally, I'd let her enjoy her little fantasy, as long as it doesn't disrupt work productivity and as long as she keeps it to herself. I wouldn't want to hear about her stupid little cat-and-mouse game.

However, if she's a christian, I am reminded that J.W. Christ did say something to the effect of "always be liberal, ready to share".

Greendawn, like six implied, I don't think it's a question a message board could answer. It depends whether she wants to keep her marriage or have the sex. I think it seldom works out you can have both.

Somebody needs to tell your woman friend that men will chase anything that moves at the work place. It doesn't have to be pretty or have a nice body. Even though flirtation happens at work and is a given, if it gets out of hand, it's sexual harrassment. Sexual harrassment isn't about attraction, it's about domination. A power play.

Also, I doubt her sincerity. Anybody who stresses how loyal they are is putting up a smoke screen. Sort of like the person who says "I never lie" and then lies in the next sentence. Whatever. More power to her.

No matter. In answer to your query I would say that her being unattainable only stokes their fire. I can imagine she, like most attractive women, enjoys the lustful attention and subtly encourages it. (Oh dear, is this sweater to small for me?)

When she gets home from work she probably has some pent up sexual tension and her husband is the beneficiary. Which is as it should be.

I gotta agree w/ Scully. If the woman is really hot, then she does not need to tell people. I have a girl friend that is not quite five foot and is top heavy. Where ever we go, the men follow. She ignores it. Some time it frustrates her, but she does not care. She is happily married w/ 2 kids. I have NEVER heard her say ... WOE is me. I am so hot and amazing that I have to fight these men off of me. It is just a matter of life for her and she is beyond it all.
