Yep. I didnt want to, and it was taken from me anyway! I was at our cabin this weekend, walking through the woods. When I got back, I was loaded full of wood ticks. 18 to be exact! I hate them blood sucking buggers! And definately dont like touching them. But when your alone, what choice do you have?

I was also preparing myself for the 400 lb bear that was seen on the land there. All I had was a 22 shot gun, but it stayed by my side the whole time!!! Its amazing when your alone out in the wilderness, how paranoid you can get. Everytime I heard the bushes crack, I would just about have a heart attack! Especially at night, when you hear the coyotes howling! (and by the way, I didnt have a car, and the three wheeler wasnt working!)

Maybe your 22 shot gun wouldn't have worked either....

Gee, I hate bugs, especially the one you posted....

I hope these bugs were compatible with your B* type blood....

    B* = budlight blood

Tell me Butt, is there a shower at that cabin? How long did you say you stayed there?

No, there isnt! No running water at all! And two days! (is that why nobody is posting on my thread?) I did take one today!

Ticks terrify me. I'm worried about lyme disease.

Wow! That is a lot of ticks.

We have some even in the yard - we are bordering a wet area and that doesn't help.

Glad you got that shower. That's the one thing I hate about primitive camping and cabins - gotta have that shower.

Shucks, I was going to invite you for a long walk in the woods with me! Yeah, it is scary. Especially when they bury their heads under the skin, and you cant get em off! Gross! I woke up in the morning, and one was crawling on my belly! I ran for the door, and brushed it into the fire pit!

lol, just a suggestion but you might want to allow a medical person to take tiny bit more of your blood and check for lyme disease and rocky mountain spotted fever. lyme disease can show up within about 48 hours and has a small rash (there are other things but would have to google it). I have an aquantaince who just got it, from once tick bite. If treated early it won't cause the horrible debliating problems it is known for.

I hope you didn't catch anything!

Remember, use a pointy tweezers to remove ticks, and always grab the head that's attached or the thorax and not the bigger abdomin. That'll squeeze the germs from the gut of the bug into your sore, and may leave the head attached if the body breaks off.
