The byword in my kh was "modest". However, it was down to the elders interpretation of what constituted modest and what did not. I f a sister wore something they weren't happy with, she was told about it. With the brothers it was hairstyle. There was a trend a few years ago for young men to have their hair very close - cropped, or even their heads shaved. The elders didn't like this style, so bros who had it done were spoken to. However, the po's son had his head shaved, and nothing was said.
Did your KH have a minimum skirt length, max heel height,

In warm weather, I would often wear sundresses an inch or so above the knee, with Dr. Scholls sandals. This would generate lots of stares, some of resentment or envy. In cooler weather, the sundress would be replaced by a skirt and t-shirt with a sweater, with Doc Martens which came up to the middle of my calves. I was eventually told by the TMS overseer that I couldn't participate in the Theocratic Ministry School dressed that way, and I said "very well, I will abide by your decision".
