I don't think the WTS has ever done anything this blatantly ignorant, inviting people hundreds of miles away fom the convention site, who have never expressed the slightest interest in even attending the local Kingdom Hall in their own neighborhood, to come and listen to the program for 3 days.

There were special campaigns in the 70's and 80's, in the convention cities, to share in a witnessing work to the residents in the convention city, to attend the Sunday "public discourse".

Going farther back, of course, there were the "sandwich board" guys in the 30's who advertised Rutherford's talks at various conventions.

Wow, is it me or does it seem like less and less conventions are being held? Some states only have one convention site?!?!?

They have 3 conventions in FW every year, representing different circuits. I'll probably be attending the June 30 or July 7 conventions. Wanna join me?

My sentiments, too, sir82; even if I were still going I would have just skipped this...probably why I'm not there any more.

As to fewer conventions, I don't know if that is because it is harder to find facilities within the WTS budget or there are just less people attending. There used to be 3 conventions in this are but now just 2 and in smaller facilities. Maybe they are trying to make it appear that people are not fading away.

I had the 'privilege' of sharing this 'life altering work' many times during my youth. LOL!

When I was a kid, you could count on some blatant proclamation that the JWs rabidly awaited, then you would hear thunderous applause. (They perfected the Hollywood canned sound track).

Something like, "BROTHERS AREN'T WE SO CONFIDENT THAT WE ARE IN THE FINAL STAGES OF THE END TIMES THAT WE WILL MAKE ANY MATERIAL SACRIFICES THAT WE NEED TO IN ORDER TO STAY CLOSE TO JEHOVAH'S LOVING ORGANIZATION?!?!?!?!"

Now sentences like these are junk English. Yet the JWs are addicted to them like a whore to crack.

Rehashed material. There must be no real writers, who are able to foretell the future there anymore. Since the denise of FFranz, no one knows how to come up with anything interesting.
Just people cut and pasting his old stuff. i.e Daniel book, isaiah books, creator book and that other one on god.
